Jordan Peterson "There's no such thing as climate" Folk misspeak, doesn't mean they're at death's door. Especially folk like Biden who have overcome a stammer and can't easily backtrack verbally when they do misspeak without getting caught in one. Note that the media is ragging on Fetterman's mental acuity despite the fact that there are countless stroke survivors living perfectly functioning lives. Yet Herschel Walker is somehow fine with the GOP.
Truss has now sacked Kwarteng, who was with her the whole way through her campaign and was implementing her policies. A U-turn on corporate tax cuts is pretty much assumed at this stage. How is it credible that she continues on office?
Disgraceful press conference from Truss. Watching it live was excruciating. Made a quick blustering statement, declaring robotically how right she is about everything. And then answered none of the questions put to her, having only allowed about four.
Well, since you're doubling down on the "Biden is on his deathbed" narrative, I guess that means you're admitting that conservative economic policies don't work, regardless of who's implementing them.
It's come to something when Fucking Jeremy Hunt (the new Chancellor) is the voice of sanity and competence. His presser this morning - despite announcing cuts and other disagreeable shite - had the merits of basic coherence, with some questions answered and some effort to explain. Hunt is PM in all but name now, since he's deciding what policies will replace Truss's shitshow. Might be good for his career in the short term. Longer term, not so much. Could have been better for him not to be associated with her at all.
The lettuce now has two arms, a VR headset, disco lights, and some kind of weird pumpkin-looking thing. There's also a poll, if you go to YouTube to watch the stream, that asks who will last longer, the lettuce or Truss. The lettuce is leading by 97%.
Hunt tore up all of her policies this morning and Truss has sent Penny Mordaunt to answer an urgent question this afternoon in the HoC. I think she's given up. There's no way that she's going to subject herself to a mauling at PMQ's on Wednesday, so I predict she'll resign tomorrow. The Lettuce Will Be Victorious!
She's not quite in the position of other senior Tories leaving in disgrace like BoJo in that she doesn't have a lot of business connections that will WANT her opinion or lobbying ability after this shitstorm, nor will she be able to write Spectator columns. So if she does resign, she's pretty fucked. That said, she does apparently have a net worth of £8.4 million but what debt she has isn't stated.
Am I missing something or is changing the government, even to Labour, not really gonna do much to fix the structural issues of the British economy (namely Brexit and reliance on finance/money laundering)?
Obviously these people have never been instructed in basic camping etiquette. Hell, just watch a few episodes Man vs Wild or Survivorman to learn about bears.
