It's come to something when Fucking Jeremy Hunt (the new Chancellor) is the voice of sanity and competence. His presser this morning - despite announcing cuts and other disagreeable shite - had the merits of basic coherence, with some questions answered and some effort to explain.

Hunt is PM in all but name now, since he's deciding what policies will replace Truss's shitshow.

Might be good for his career in the short term. Longer term, not so much. Could have been better for him not to be associated with her at all.

The Liz Truss lettuce now has hair, teeth, and an arm.

Hunt tore up all of her policies this morning and Truss has sent Penny Mordaunt to answer an urgent question this afternoon in the HoC. I think she's given up. There's no way that she's going to subject herself to a mauling at PMQ's on Wednesday, so I predict she'll resign tomorrow.

She's not quite in the position of other senior Tories leaving in disgrace like BoJo in that she doesn't have a lot of business connections that will WANT her opinion or lobbying ability after this shitstorm, nor will she be able to write Spectator columns. So if she does resign, she's pretty fucked. That said, she does apparently have a net worth of £8.4 million but what debt she has isn't stated.

Am I missing something or is changing the government, even to Labour, not really gonna do much to fix the structural issues of the British economy (namely Brexit and reliance on finance/money laundering)?
