No, the far right extremists aren't the typical Republican. That said, they're usually part of the Republican base; one which is pandered to with some regularity and talked up with all their talk of "if we lose at the ballot box we'll win at the bullet box!" The regular right and the far right aren't the same thing but they're fairly close together and it's just a matter of degrees.
