Problem is, this isn't "Trumpism". As my post upthread shows, the hardcore are now turning on him for "betraying" them. It's always been white supremacist/nationalist bullshit, latching on to any political body that gives it voice.

At a more worrying level, it's "my version of America over yours", backed by the idea that America is opposing tyranny but not saying what tyranny IS beyond "making me do stuff I don't like, because that's agin ma rights!!". Well, some stuff you can't do because it's agin everyone's rights, and yours don't beat mine, bubba.

This is Texas realtor Jenna Ryan in a now deleted video the day of the putsch:
“We’re gonna go down and storm the Capitol. They’re down there right now and that’s why we came and so that’s what we are going to do. So wish me luck.”

Another video that is still up on Ryan's Facebook page shows her and a group of President Donald Trump's supporters walking toward the Capitol. "This is a prelude to the war that's about to happen," she warns.

She also livestreamed herself entering the building.

"We are going to f------ go in here. Life or death, it doesn’t matter. Here we go," she said in a now-deleted video. Ryan later added: Y’all know who to hire for your realtor. Jenna Ryan for your realtor.”

"It was one of the best days of my life," she wrote, according to the court documents. Another photo included in the documents shows her standing next to a broken window at the Capitol. In the caption, she said that news studios would be next "if the news doesn't stop lying about us."

So what is she saying now?

“I just want people to know I’m a normal person. That I listen to my president who told me to go to the Capitol. That I was displaying my patriotism while I was there and I was just protesting and I wasn’t trying to do anything violent and I didn’t realize there was actually violence,” Ryan said.

“I think we all deserve a pardon. I’m facing a prison sentence. I think I do not deserve that and from what I understand, every person is going to be arrested that was there, so I think everyone deserves a pardon, so I would ask the President of the United States to give me a pardon.”

Trumpism? In the upcoming battle between plutocrats and fascists for the soul of the Republican Party, I can't quite bring myself to root for either side. Fuck them all.

But what I can root for is them destroying each other, maybe seeing the party split in two and not nearly as able to win elections. They think they can impose minority rule on America, but when they're done excommunicating each other, both leftovers will be too small of a minority to control much of anything. Not saying it will necessarily happen, but it's something to hope for.
