And wokelords lose their shit. https://www.npr.org/2021/04/01/9834...criticism-over-historic-denial-of-race-issues https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-56585538 I have mixed feelings about this. Okay, maybe the system is not "intentionally" racist, but what about accidentally racist? Shouldn't something be done about that? On the other hand, it is a positive message that individuals not drown themselves in fatalism and blame for the system when in fact they have the power to improve their situation.
Britain does not have the same history of racial slavery the US has. I am not sure what history GB has of things like not allowing blacks to vote, and the overwhelming racial oppression the US had after the slaves were freed. They may not have as much to overcome internally. The may have more of a colonial history to overcome. I still have to wonder how true this is given the way racism is sneaky and racists hate to be labelled as racists. To say that they do not have troubles with racism while still having the royal family freak out over black babies and princesses may be a huge indicator there is some racism going on somewhere. Maybe they do not have the huge gap the US racists cling to with a death grip, but I would imagine there are some racists. You don't want to let racists freely breed and run about. They are like roaches and ants. Once they start spreading you get a big problem quickly. Next thing you know you have Boris killing parliment and going full trump.
Next up, Britain reports that it can juggle twenty elephants whilst unicycling, and has laser vision. What Rick said - several of the academics it "cites" have come out to say they never said any such thing.
Who said the media is not in royalty's pocket? I was thinking this was way too hopeful, but I was waiting on that to be confirmed as I do not know the UK like that.
We do have to realize white supremacy and it's ideas came from europe where the white people come from. Where did the best racists in the world (The US) learn racism from? We learned it from the countries we came from, and one of them was the britain the biggest imperialist colonizers of the world before we refined racism and set that shit to 11. One of the reasons britain cannot be as big in the racism anymore is because the US and Germany (in ww2) used up most of the white supremacy. But we still loan them some.
I think most people are aware the report was way off the mark and how horrific our history is. I would, however, point out that for all our many faults there are far more racist parts of the world than either the US or Britain. Let's not overlook just how much worse things could be if we allowed it, ethnic cleansing still happens after all.
Except for Brexit. And how the royals treated Megan And the colonization of India and Africa. And creating America. Y'know, except for those little hiccups.
I have mixed feelings on whether flat out killing the ethnicity you are against is better or worse than making them slaves and torturing and raping them for the rest of their lives while trying to genetically and mentally cripple them to the point where they are too much like livestock to participate in society. I am pretty sure had slaves been around for modern medicine wew would have allowed them to be experimented on like lab rats, and done far more hideous things over all to them. I guess we did turn around on that sort of thing. Really, if you look at the natives of the americas we did help with the ethnic cleansing of many native american people. One of the reasons there are not so many people reminding us about american ethnic cleansing is because we did it better. While we were killing the natives we were making color coded slaves. We were fucking awful. (I say we as now i am a member of the society but all my ancestors came from europe in the 1900s)
Absolutely, I'm just drawing a clear distinction between the widely acknowledged current racism in the US/UK and the much more severe and unrestrained examples which abound round the world and throughout history. We've arguably engaged in instances of at least partial genocide and could well do again but I'd question whether refugees from the Balkans, the DRC or Syria would agree that the current state of affairs here is akin to the routine massacres, mass rapes and torture they've been exposed to.
seen that shit in Bosnia. Funny anecdote about that, but you really had to be there to appreciate it.
This idea of poor life choices is a load of crap. If a black person finds they do not want to be a part of the whypipo machine, I cannot fucking blame them. Whitey loves to tell them if they bust their ass and be nice whitey will give them a fucking chance and racism does not exist. Bull fucking shit. Every time they do something they got someone coming up to them and fucking with them for their skin color and ethnicity. Everything they do has some TR criticizing them for being too black. They get passed over for promotions and jobs. If they get into an upscale neighborhood with a majority of white people they get shit talk spread about them, and tend to get left out of invitations to certain people's places. People are telling them and their kids how to walk, talk, dress, and act. All this time they have to be nice and smile because they have a chance to get all this criticism and hate dumped on them. I do not even want to participate in your white ass machine that fucks with all of them, and I am white. I do not blame a single one of them for being mad and even frustrated enough to lose their shit. I am tired of black people being mad at me because people like TR and @oldfella1962 treat them like shit, but I am not going to get angry at the black people. I can get them being mad. I am mad for them. Fuck your whypipo racist asses. I want black people to feel welcome and a part of my community. I want them to feel that their presence is appreciated. In the end we are all just working to get by in life, and I want them to feel good. I really have no reason to care that some entitled little white shit feels bad that they are getting pissed on for pissing on black people. You whypipo do it for fun and to feel good, and the rest of us are doing it because you suck and we would really love it if you would fuck off and die. I cannot take your hate back. I can help chase it the fuck away.
Also, if @T.R doesn't have me on ignore, it's worth restating that many of the very people being quoted in the report have come forward saying they were either misquoted or worse.
I think if he is ignoring anyone it is not through the ignore function so it might be read. Like I do not have @garamet on actual ignore. I am just done responding to her. However, again I think you give a person like him way too much credit. @oldfella1962 seems to be going down the road of rabid white tribalism, but TR is already at the end of that road. If he is not already on stormfront it would surprise me.
I'm apparently on the hate list because I shockingly expressed greater concern for the conquered than the conquerors. Go figure. Didn't, however, realise that our friend's patriotism veered into nationalism.
Tererunt please feel free - nay I implore you - to find one credible, tangible example of where I ever treated black people like shit. Opinions and assumptions don't count, BTW. Referencing facts and statistics also don't count. Not agreeing with you or other people also doesn't count. Yes Tererun, nobody cares about black people more than you do, you've mentioned it many times, we get it. A statue in your honor is being erected as we speak, promise.
I do not have a record of your life to bring up. But if I did I would bet good money I could find some instances of you bashing the black man. I could find some areas where you sneered at and insulted black culture. It is there and I would bet having a vagina on it.
If the report is misrepresenting its own sources, that's pretty damning. On the other hand, could it be that it uses the raw data from a source to draw a different conclusion? I would like some details on these claims.
It also suggests that education needs to stop teaching about slavery and start promoting "the Caribbean Experience". It's on the same fucking lines as the 1776 Commission in the US - fuck teaching our racist past, just whitewash it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1776_Commission
I'm sure the thousands of girls beheaded by their own parents or the up to a million who died during Partition might have felt differently. Fun fact for those who idolise Ghandi, he had a bug hand in negotiating the terms of that proud moment we prefer not to acknowledge. But so did Montbatten so he was in grubby company. Perhaps someone in Somalia could explain how how well they were served by the empire as a colony and how well that ended. Maybe a few of the African nations used as pawns in the game of European enpires could tell us about how being forcibly conscripted felt, or maybe the Punjabi people could mention how they lost 5% of their population to the Spanish Flu from their young men returning after fighting involuntarily for the Raj in WW1. The glory days of yonder....
