    The good news just keeps coming for Activision...

    Treyarch, the people that brought us Nazi Zombies have been hard at work bringing us the next iteration of the Call of Duty franchise... Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Call of Duty: Black Ops:

    [YT="Call of Duty: Black Ops"]l1pUiQxVjvU[/YT]

    Right now, it's rumored to take place over 3 decades... from the 60's and Vietnam to the 80's and the fall of the Berlin Wall and Soviet Union.

    that, and ZOMBIES!!!!! :zombieonfire::zombiesplode::soldierfire::face:

    I know I was geeked up for Modern Warfare 2, ut I think I'm just as excited to get a chance at this game. Truth be told, Treyarch is much better at Competitve and Campaign Co-Op than Infinity Ward... and not to mention, Nazi Zombies kicked Spec Ops' ass.

    BTW, While playing COD: W@W yesterday, In the message of the day" section, it said to look for new DLC for that game. It's probably related to Black Ops. I'll keep you posted.

    Thanks for sharing!

    A few thoughts:
    1. No way it will look that good.
    2. It reminds me of GI Joe cartoons from the 80's or 90's (That's a good thing)
    3. I seek a release date!

    Well, I think the Modern Warfare 2 trailers look pretty much like the game itself... So I think this has a pretty good chance of looking reasonably close to this. Oh.. and the release date is 11.09.10!!

    As a matter of fact, YES!! Treyarch head Lamia (sp?) was quoted recently in a blurb on gameinformer.com and not only will this be on PC, but the PC version will indeed support dedicated servers. The PC community is very excited about this. Linkage when I get off the work computer...

    Mark this under "dissappointed."

    http://gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2010/06/04/Treyarch-talks-black-ops-campaign.aspx

    "Co-op is different than what people think?" Is that a hint that there may not be a Zombies mode in Black Ops? Am I reading too much into this?

    UPDATE....

    It turns out that the new DLC teased in that message was for the iPhone/iPad version of Nazi Zombies. The Shi No Numa Kamikazee Zombies was just released on the iPhone version. The Nacht Der Untoten, and Zombie Veruuckt maps were previously available. I have all three and I sort of eagerly await the 4th, Der Reise. Pretty cool, and although the mobile game is enough to get you excited and have the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, it's no where near as fun as on the console, IMHO... and a little unneccessary to be honest. Cool, but unneccessary.

    Another trailer hit during game 7 of the NBA finals...

    Eminem must be a real Duty-head. He even appeared on stage at E3 and performed this song in the trailer...

    Apostle, what do you think now? I think a lot of this has to be actual gameplay.

    I've played both the modern warfare games and both a frakkin' awesome.

    Of course, after a couple weeks of shooting individuals in the head and maybe blowing up a tank with some C4 or whatever, I fired up my old friend Janes F-18.

    In one mission I shot 2 OSA Fast attack craft, destroyed another various 18 ground targets with HARM missiles and CBU-72 Fuel Air Explosives, and shot down two MiG-25's. All on the same mission, bitches. Then I took it back to the boat and caught an OK-3 on the trap.

    Aviation. It's a weapon of mass destruction, baby!

    Good time to do that....

    I'd start with Call of Duty Modern Warfare... Great single player campagn and you should be able to get it cheap. There may not be a lot of people playing the multiplayer, but since it's cheap, you should get your money's worth.

    Then go to Call of duty World at War. The younger people didn't appreciate this one as much, but seeing as how I'm a history buff and this is a WWII era shooter, I enjoyed it a great deal. Once you complete it, you'll unlock a Zombies free for all mode which is awesome and on PSN, there are still 20-30,000 people playing multiplayer so I can always get a competitive match. XBLA has to have more than that still playing.

    Right now, the masses are playing Modern Warfare 2. I can't say enough things about this game. The single player is one of the most exhilaratinig experiences in games, IMHO, the control schemes are intuitive and responsive, the graphics are great and the multiplayer is competive if not just a little stale after 3 iterations, but I just can't stop playing it. Each match is just 10 minutes long, but that's just perfect for a game quickie, if the time is right or you can play for hours if you choose. I can't recommend this franchise enough!

    Since I got the Hardened Edition for MW2, I think I'm going to stick with that for Black Ops. It's supposed to come with the 4 Zombie maps from W@W (which I have already), the special tin casing and hopefully more.

    The Prestige Edition is still too overpriced for me @ $149.99.

    Yeah, I'm putting the finishing touches on a 26 mission mini-campaign I've authored for it using the mission builder. Probably one of the best editors ever to ship with a game.

    BIG NEWS!!

    It looks like Treyarch has made some innovative additions to it's Multiplayer mode!!

    [YT="COD: Black Ops Multiplayer Reveal!!"]kg_8mPoloBo[/YT]

    Well, it looks like instead of earning XP, you will now earn CP or Call of duty Points. These points will follow you in various modes of the game and you will have to purchase your upgrades to unlock new weapons. You will be able to wager or bet your CP in matches with other players to earn even more in new modes!!! This creates a new game economy!

    I'm pretty eager to try this out :polarslam2:

    Neat stuff!

    I'm still a SP type of player, though. I don't derive any satisfaction from free for all deathmatch styles of play. Sort of like playing 'tag' in the park with the other kids- except everyone is shooting.

    Awww. This news just might have me downgrading my preorder.

    Hmmm... I hope they are just trying to keep new Zombie content as a surprise after the game is finished or something... If they overlook adding a zombies map or two, this will bea major shot in their own foot AFAIC.
