If that is true then I do not want the NotDayton parody account sending me PMs.

If you ignore a user, any conversations shouldn't show up in your inbox.

Nah, that's low. The troll has gone too far now and the account should be shut. Trolling by PM with a dual isn't on. Surely the mods can't agree with that, even if it's you?

Don't count on it. Judging by Anna's constance diatribe, they are supposedly doing me a favor by allowing me to post.

These guys may have left the TrekBBS but the TrekBBS did not leave them.

At least the TrekBBS Moderators were honest about it

IIRC gul you have basically said that the NotDayton dual was "limited" to the Red Room.

Is that true or not? It should thus cover personal messaging as well.

Why do you constantly bring up TBBS, you were banned from there years ago, What happened there doesn't apply here.

You followed me from the TrekBBS and your opinion of me was fully based on things I posted there.

So you are not one to talk.

Unless you want to leave me the hell alone at Wordforge which I would be all for.

I didn't follow you, I came here of my own accord. Your recollection and view of past events is highly delusional and incorrect. I was getting bored at TBBS, this board was much more fun. I had partial opinion of you there, you only added to it and reinforced it here. I can say all I want, your opinion has no bearing on it and the more your derision grows the more I'm inclined to continue.

Did you just release Blue Room info? If you really believe that, then I agree that your autism is getting worse.

^No I did not. I referenced it without quoting or providing specific content which from the way I read the rules I'm allowed to do.

And you flamed me outside the Red Room which means you have violated the rules.

Unfortunately it seems that I can no longer report posts.

It is true -- that is the policy we inherited, and I think we all stand by it. But I need to see more about the point of view that messages are out of bounds. The reason for the Red Room restriction is that we have a no trolling rule in the other forums. But I am aware of no such rule regarding the message function. I am prepared to accept the notion that such a rule is a good idea. Convince me.

That said, we don't have an easy ability to police messaging, and this is far from the only allegation of such trolling. I am trolled quite often by private conversation. But it's private and easily ignored. And it's hard to prove such a thing has even happened. Staff don't have the ability to read the messages without taking over the account. So you can see how it might be problematic for us to take action.

Agreed on all counts. I'm of the mindset that NotDayton trolling by PM probably shouldn't be allowed, but other than Dayton giving us access to his PMs all we have is Dayton's claim that it's happening.

Is it really any different than any other member trolling another by PM? They can be put on ignore or simply not read at all.

Precisely my question. @El Chup and @We Are Borg, for example, have accused each other of trolling by private conversation. To expand the realm of moderation to that platform would really call on some significant changes to a place that is lightly moderated. Best advice -- don't feed the troll.

What do I have to do to give you access to my PMs? Simply give you permission? Permission given

We'd need your password because that's the only way to access your PMs.

If you don't want to give it up, I completely understand (I wouldn't want to give anybody my password either) but that's the only way.

Is there anyone here on staff that was around when 'Tasvir's PMs got cut off? He started pissing off people and his access got cut right off.

I agree that any such behaviour should be nipped in the bud and we're looking into that right now.

Is it possible to disable an account's ability to use private messaging? I know SMF software can, but I'm completely unfamiliar with the software WF uses.
