He made a laughable threat that no one with any intelligence could believe as serious and the community organizer owner used it as cover to ban him. The actual reason for the ban of course being that the community organizer owner doesn't like John Castle.

The only abuse of personal info I saw was Chardman's references to Castle's deteriorating eyesight.

Kinda strange how Ancalagon wanted everyone to pony up some charity dollars for Shep because he fell off a ladder and almost paralyed himself, yet Castle is going blind and he gets treated like dogshit. Where's the compassion for Castle? Oh I get it, Castle isn't a sympathetic figure, he's an asshole. He certainly doesn't ring any PC bells like transsexualism. So no Paypal handouts for him.

Castle has been very clear that he doesn't want charity and wishes to make money from his talents. And yeah, I don't ever remeber that being discussed by himself outside of his BR thread or facebook, butI could be mistaken.

Who the hell knows? That was part of the problem, he wanted folks to donate cash, but also wanted to parcel out pre-approved bits of info at his own discretion and when pressed for more info acted like it was national security secrets. This was all while he & Tamar (before she'd been tossed out the airlock) were slandering his wife as an unstable nutcase who couldn't be trusted with money. Oh yeah, but here he is acting like he has moral high ground? What a douche.

Well, All of it came from this forum (I talk about that here) so there was nothing wrong with repeating any of it, though I admit the way I used it was more than a little heartless. Just found him more obnoxious of late, and let myself be manipulated into "escalating".

Castle is hardly the only annoying asshole here, with Zombie listing off a fair number of them. And while Castle can troll with the best of them, he didn't exactly get worked up into a froth all on his own, did he? Actually, the really annoying threads were those that someone like garamet or Chardman kept going back and forth with him, and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who thinks that.

If visionrazor can worked up into a froth that easily, he needs to see a shrink and get on some seriously strong meds.

You know that quote from Dark Knight, when Harvey Dent says "you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain?" That's present-day Wordforge. We've gone from a protest board fleeing from the tyranny of TBBS, valuing free speech and pretending we were the rootinest tootinest wild west corner of the internet where only those with the thickest skins need apply to now having owners whining about "derp" and "trolling," talking about banning people for being boring & unoriginal, and an owner publicly wishing he could ban the most distinguished member of the site, a published author of Trek Lit and other sci-fi. And for what? She's frequently annoying? Her schtick is repetitive? You've just described 99% of the membership.

It's a sad state of affairs around here. A lot of the blame rests with Lanzman. He made a terrible choice in who he sold the board to, and don't give me any of that bullshit about how Anc was the only one who would take it. The fact is there were many who he never bothered to ask. Myself, for example. I certainly have the financial means to purchase and maintain the site without having to partner with anyone. And I certainly would have never entertained any of the asinine ideas that have been floated over the past few months. I would have honored and preserved the core identity of Wordforge and endeavored to maintain relationships with all members, even those who despise me. And I would have maximized Media Central's potential to be the primary forum, an idea those in charge have been either too short-sighted or apathetic to pursue.

But no, instead we have Ginger Twat publicly declaring that the site is dying and he's given up on it, and publishing his personal hit lists of those he wants to make disappear.

I'd say Wordforge is getting what it deserves, but it's not as if GinTwat was elected.
