This is the sort of religious insanity that comes from the church that Dayton embraces.

I fondly recall Dayton saying a few years ago he would disown his daughter if she turned out to be gay.

If a church doesn't deal with sin, it ceases to be the church.

We don't have the right to tell heathens how to live, but it is mandated by God to give those who will not repent of sin over to Satan.

"Okay, y'all have it your way, then, and fuck you very much." would be the appropriate response.

They are teaching that homosexuality is not a sin.

It would be better for them if a millstone were placed around their neck and they were cast into the sea.

    Holy fuck.

Did you just call for the drowning of people who support treating gay folks like human beings? Seriously?

    Just wow, man.

I'm hesitant to ask what you want done with actual gay people, but I will anyway.

Some how I think this has less to do with biblical interpretation and more to do with being pissed off that someone dared to not toe the line.

Are they? Or are they merely arguing that, on the secular level, homosexuals have the same right as heterosexuals? Where's the sin in that?

Yes, they are arguing that it is not a sin. I would be better for them to drown than to cause someone who believes in Jesus to stumble:

6 but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin,[a] it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea. Matthew 18.6

No, they are not. Merely arguing the point that homosexuals be allowed rights under the United States Constitution is a matter of secular law. Such arguments exist outside the scope of religion. To argue within the confines of secular law is to render unto Caesar that which belongs to Caesar.

And even if they were arguing that homosexuality is not a sin, why would the church point out the speck of sin in the parents' eyes while ignoring the log in their own?

That doesn't even address the fact that the Bible is notoriously unclear on whether or not homosexuality is a sin. I know a number of churches like to cherry pick various passages in the Bible to justify their anti-homosexual agenda, but, the truth is, there's not much in the Bible to go on.

They clearly teach the erroneous position that homosexuality is not a choice. They are causing people to err from the truth.

Scripture is clear to those who have an ear to hear that homosexuality is wrong.

If the law as is immutable as you claim, I assume you follow it all. Wear any mixed fabric clothing lately? When your wife is menstruating, do you treat her like the Niddah that she is?

Hold on buddy, who said anything about the law? The New Testament itself is clear on the issue.

And you'll love the fact thst you won't even have to get into a hermeneutics argument with Elwood over the issue

    I love it.
From a Christian perspective, it's like a hospital kicking someone out for daring to be ill, or supporting someone who is ill.

    Matthew 7:9-11
, "Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?"

These people prefer to hand out stones and serpents.

That said, they're free to do what they please. They're raging hypocrites, since it's likely someone in that church has remarried, for example, but they're free to do what they've done. There are plenty of churches who actually follow the teachings of Jesus who will take them in.
