I will agree that it will be new for many people who were born recently, but we have not reached back to the so called greatest generation who were really the greatest racist generation. It was around the 1930s that Hitler based his ideas on the white supremacist and male supremacist ideology of the US. So called moral people of the US used to bring their children to watch black men being hung as a family activity and this is a century ago. There are probably living white nationalists in the US who have watched lynchings for fun.

When I grew up being trans was a sexual dysfunction and needed to be treated by the sick fucks who called themselves psychologists. Conversion torture was a medical reality in asylums when I was a kid.

There are black women alive right now who were forcefully sterilized through the psychological community because they were deemed unfit to bear children.

There were segregated schools when I grew up despite bussing. There was one black kid in my high school because of financial segregation. I lived within an hour drive of NYC. Westchester NY schools were not much better because they divided the school districts based on so called financial lines which put black kids and white kids into different schools.

They would vandalize and threaten the jews where I lived so much they made their own communities.

We invented racial slavery. We committed genocide on the natives. Our founders wrote about how the white christian male should rule the savages of the world, and justified genocide because the people we killed were not human like us. The US is not even 300 years old.

It is not that it could never happen here, because it did. It happened during the lifetimes of many of the members currently posting here. The fights against it were bloody, and we are going to be fighting it again. My own grandmother was thrown out of state college by the dean because he found out she was married and he felt she did not need a college degree because women should not work when married. All she was studying for was to teach elementary school. She wanted to do a traditional female job and was told she should not work because it was her job to be a baby incubator for her man.

This country never crawled out of the shit, we just pretended we liked it. We are not falling back into it, we never got out of it. It gets so much deeper than this.
