I would have made it teal, but I'm slightly color blind, and not sure what teal is.

I'm thinking custom banners are more trouble than they are worth UNLESS there is a way to let people edit their own.

Then they'll just be tacky. :yuck:

And really, we already have custom titles. Do we really need the banners as well?

I sort of like the 'writer' tag. Makes me feel all important and special, like a monkey that just found a screwdriver.

It looks like the banners are tied to custom user groups, so I guess any banners would have to be implemented by TPTB?

I agree with Anc, it's a fun novelty feature. If it brings too much hassle for the admins or too much grief, it can go away. (It might be fun to trot a few out for major holidays or events in the future.)

I set up the 'Writer' tag, as a way to familiarize myself with the group settings. It's (the Writer tag) not meant to be permanent. Figured I'd highlight those of us who are writers, published or otherwise while I learn the settings.
(And I think I missed a couple... sorry you didn't make yet another list :weep:)

So, no, @Zombie, it's not the new owners thinking they could do what they please with members' accounts :bailey:

As being discussed, while a cute gimmick, I don't think we really need the extra tags below our AVs.

Have to completely agree with this. It's out and out favouritism.

You really want a 'LawyerForge' tag? :chris:

Explain to me how it's favouritism when I'm just using it to figure out an admin tool? Remember -- this isn't any of the owners playing EliteForge, it's me getting used to new features.

    Not really.
Perhaps favouritism isn't the right word, but it's just another thing that is divisive as it sets certain people apart from the rest.

What makes you think one wouldn't be given if someone asked for one? It's a trivial feature that people are playing with as they explore the new software. I'm having trouble seeing why you're as hung up on it as Volpone is about negreps.

So did I lose my nifty Starscape member label due to garamet's butthurt? Because that'd make this even lamer.

No, you're still a member, I just removed the "Starscape Member" banners that go with it. That's for everyone, though. I felt that the profile panels were getting too congested.

There, Nova's now a writer. Please note that the group may turn out to be temporary.
