www.roll20.net Tabletop online system! Free! Anyway, I'm running a campaign online with some friends (and friends of friends) and currently need more players. You can play as long as you have a webcam and microphone. We've tested out the system and it feels about 90% like a D&D campaign in person.
which is 4 mountain, may have to go a little early, just got informed a few hours ago that i have to take my father to the air port
... you should have told me that you didn't have a character ready. Build one and PM me if you need help. Otherwise you can't really play.
wasn't sure if we were going to build one there through the program or had to build one beforehand, sorry, I'll have you a sheet done up in a little while
For basic 3.5 character generation, I use http://dnd3rd.sourceforge.net/ However, if you're doing magic users, don't forget to add your bonus spells from your ability scores, as this generator doesn't have anything that tells you how many spells you have per day. TKO, 4pm MST Saturday sounds good but usually I have to leave at 6:30pm. Good luck though. Are you the DM for this? Also, historically, cheese gives Asians explosive diarrhea. Not sure how much damage that should do.
I don't know why but I've never had the slightest interest in an oriental adventures campaign even though I bought the AD&D rule book about it back in the day.
We entered the castle from the end of the last game. We found some porcelain dolls that, when broken, released an ethereal message directed at Wolf. He has no idea wtf that's about, though. Then we went through a dungeon and found some elementals, custodians hired by Evil Nian to clean up the aftermath of whatever evil plans he has. The elementals on the second level of the dungeon were rioting because Nian didn't give them health insurance. Coyote and Moegara forged health insurance documents and convinced the elementals that they now had amazing health insurance, courtesy of Nian. Next week, a friendly elemental we met (Windy) will figure out how to fix the teleportation mechanism to get us out of the dungeon.
Good. I hate that I've misses one session already, and I'm probably going to miss this Saturday's, but my living room will have a beautiful stone tile floor by the end of Saturday.
Recap from this week: Windy reveals that he has no idea how to get out of the dungeon, but the giant golem laughs and smashes a hole in the wall. Right outside the wall is a huge valley. It’s snowing and cold, which is strange since this part of the continent is normally hot. It’s also getting dark. The elementals explain that they have buddies in other cities who are also in need of insurance, and who would be glad to help you talk Nian out of his world- destruction nonsense. After all, while custodial jobs pay the bills, they’re not exactly doing that work voluntarily and they would love to get home to their families soon and just skip the whole apocalypse ordeal. The other staff is stationed in Dagger Rock, Fort Mirance, and Vessin. Each location takes them deeper into the Kingdom of Isteroth, which is slowly being consumed by Nian’s darkness. At Dagger Rock, the party will find the entire population is slowly losing its mind. Everyone is turning a pale, dead color. All the crops are dead, but no one seems to care about them, or about anything. There are shades walking freely about the town, and no one seems to mind them. From exploring this town, PCs will find that this town’s population is designated by Nian as future slave labor. They will create monuments in his honor. Documents detailing this are found throughout the town, left behind by a reporter named Leroy. His diary has a label on the inside: “Leroy, Reporter, Dagger Rock Newspaper. If found, please return to 203 Crabstick St.” It includes a picture of him and his kids. Entry 1 Nothing ever happens in this town. Sure wish something interesting could happen so I’d have a story. Eh… I’m sure the boss won’t mind another editorial on food poisoning, but I’ve already covered Jan’s Fishery & Pub 3 times this year. Entry 2 Finally got a story! A few kids went missing this morning and nobody knows where they went. This could make a great story. I’ve been sent to the woods to help search for them, and of course to write about it. Entry 3 We found the kids. They were standing around just a mile outside of town, staring blankly. Their skin had turned white and they were cold to the touch. Rescuers took them to the hospital, but the clerics there have no idea how to treat the kids. Entry 4 Whatever happened to those kids, it wasn’t a one-time deal. My buddy Jeb went fishing with his family last week and didn’t return. They found them all wandering a half mile outside of town, staring blankly, their skin turned white and cold. Entry 5 The city council has declared a plague and advised everyone to stay indoors. More people are turning up like Jeb and his family. I’ve been all over town, trying to find more clues, but so far none of the victims are related in any way. Maybe there’s something in the air. It’s been really cold all week, very unusual this time of year. There’s a storm brewing. Entry 6 The sky has been overcast for two weeks now. It’s freezing outside. Shade- like spirits have moved into the town, coming from the North-East. They arrived in a huge group and swarmed the hospitals. All our plague victims got up and walked about. They seem almost normal, just… empty, cold, pale versions of their former selves. It’s almost like undead are walking the streets. I’m moving my family out tomorrow, this is too weird for me. Entry 7 My family disappeared. I have to find them. Outside the town is a strange hole in the ground. Hop down to find a small dungeon and fight Leroy and his family, who have all been possessed. Upon defeating Leroy and his family, you find one final entry: Entry 8 I wandered into what seems like a dungeon. I may not have long left. I found my family, pale and cold like the others. It’s happening to me too. Every moment that passes by, I feel that I lose more and more of myself. I keep hearing a voice calling out to me. It says I must… I must… serve Lord Nian. The dungeon exit leads to another valley, and the road eventually leads to Fort Mirance. The city’s walls are sealed shut. The air is colder here and the wind is picking up. Also, Coyote "tamed" a level 6 earth elemental and named it "Tom." He now follows us on our adventures.
Recap: This week, we found another town full of zombified people. They were making explosives. TheBurgerKing grabbed 250 pounds of explosives and got himself a chainsaw, which we will make into a flaming chainsaw later. After exploring the town for a bit, Moegara blew up a pile of straw and found a secret tunnel! SECRET TUNNEL! THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS! *ahem* On the other side of the tunnel was a village of happy children! They led the way to the Insane Old Man, a friend of the Mysterious Old Man who commands THE PLOT, and the party learned that the only way to defeat the evil Nian is with happiness. So they have to find a way to throw a massive party in Nian's face.
How free are you next Sunday? I just found out the boss wants me working REALLY EFFING LATE next Saturday so I'm thinking of a Sunday meetup with battles and all kinds of shit.
