Seems Roberto Orci is going toe to toe with the Ain't It Cool talkbackers.
If you want your feelings known, now's the time.

Look's like ain't it cool published this...

    http://www.aintitcool.com/node/49990
Copernicus on the Science of J. J. Abrams' STAR TREK!!

Copernicus blasted the shows writers for some of the more dumb ass science moments in the new Star Trek, specifically that a Supernova is destroying the galaxy. He didn't say anything that Trek fans haven't said better, but apparently Orci read this one. So he went and got himself a six shooter and a username and started firing back.

    That led to this today...

    http://www.aintitcool.com/node/50036
Copernicus Briefly Chats With Orci And Kurtzman About The Science Of Abrams' STAR TREK!! Lindelof Talks Internet Message Boards At Hero Complex!! And More!!

...where Lindelof admits it was Orci in the talk back. Not knowing when to shut up Orci continues his new status as Ain't It Cool Groupie in this article too.

Shocking Orci reveal so far? apparently Spock's mind meld vision of Vulcan exploding isn't to be taken literally. Thus ending(?) the debate of why he could see Vulcan exploding from Delta WhosIt with the naked eye.

    He's pissed.

Looks like he ain't going to take no crap from Trek nerds about how to write a Trek movie.

Orci will cry, fall to his knees, cut off his own head with a box cutter, and pass his quickening into Dayton.

Why, that should just be self-evident.

    In the link Lindelof says

"And there’s almost none of, ‘This is what we should do instead.’"

That's total bollocks. On Trekmovie, where Orci posts regularly, I, and loads of others, have posted plenty of views offering suggestions for what to change next time around, so I think it's tpotally disingenuous to suggest that fans are either "love it/hate it" types like Dayton.

Re: Dayton here's ur chance, Roberto Orci defending StarTrek on a forum right now, have at

It would be even better if Star Trek XII featured a scene where Kirk and Spock beam down to Earth, dig up Gene Roddenberry's corpse and then took a shit all over it.

Robert Orci and JJ Abrams could use some sort of scientific justification for the scene: the weight of established Trek canon and the outright fucking nerdiness of die-hard Trek fans was causing a rip in space-time that was threatening to turn the entire population of the galaxy into basement-dwelling losers.

Oh, and just for kickers, the etching on Roddenberry's memorial should be in the wrong font.

(And yeah... I know Roddenberry was cremated. Fuck it. I don't care about canon.)

    YESSSSSS! :diablo:

Do another origin story, where everyone is the opposite gender. And gay.

And make the Enterprise five miles long, with six warp nacelles and a chromed spoiler.

My design was only three kilometers long and did not have warp nacelles.

And an excellent short story did appear in the collection of Trek short stories called "Star Trek: The New Voyages" where the advanced technology on an alien world kidnapped a number of the Enterprise crew (all the main characters except Scotty) and changed their sexes.

Actually it was Spock - the strongest male got an extra chromosome or something to be hyper-male.

It was an interesting story, but I'm biased.

A lot of good stories in those collections actually - WAB's post reminds me of one called "Visit to a Strange Planet" and the sequel "Revisited"
