This really is the crux of it. The man doesn't sit there and say to himself "why is it that I am so reviled that someone felt the need to contact my employer over my online comments?". Instead he carries on regardless. Spouting all this bigotry and sexism online is going to get him in serious trouble one day, and possibly in more ways than just a job firing. But the man is so fully of himself he can't even bring himself to discuss it.

I love this story I used to tell at teacher meetings and to my classes as well.

The African American father of one of my students I had some problems with told me:

"You only treat my son that way because he's black!!!"

I replied.
