Maybe your wife has posted here.

The chances are much less that she posted this thread:

If I were preparing to run for public office. Even a rather mundane one in Arkansas, then I should have no problems laying my hands on enough money to simply buy the board through a third party of course and well before I began a political race.

Once I own the board, it will not be difficult to go through and alter large numbers of posts here critical or insulting to me.

I look forward to Anne, Faceman, shootER, Rick Deckard, El Chup, We Are Borg, ed629, Stallion........and oh so many others lauding me on this board for my outstanding work as an educator and my wonderful personal qualities.

    Not lying you see.

You see, over the last several years I've complained about members here altering what I've posted.

    But.

Several members pointed out that altering what a person has posted is a long established wordforge tradition. So my doing so en masse in the future is completely fine and in line with the practices and traditions of this board.

    I'm now convinced.

I realized that I wasn't seeing the whole picture.

Why wage a war against the board? Why waste time and effort on something that gains me nothing? Why do that when a simple change in tactic can enable the board to work FOR ME!!

    Thank you.

Allow me to introduce you to the Internet Archive and the Wayback Machine feature. Assuming that anyone involved with the board would actually sell it to you, altering all the posts won't change a thing, because anyone can use the Wayback Machine to see exactly what content was on here at a given date. This is because they'll be getting that information from a source other than that which is located on the servers that currently house Wordforge. Or to put it another way, you're rubbing crayons on your copy, while the copy at the library is the way it was the day it was printed.

If it were anyone else, I'd think that they were trolling, but given that you've demonstrated such an abject stupidity when it comes to all things computer related, I'll explain this to you. To find Wordforge on the Internet Archive, you don't search for the username of any poster, you search for the site. It then presents you with the snapshots that it has. For example, the oldest sample it has is of the front page from August 5, 2003.

Now, most of the stuff you click on in that snapshot won't work, but this thread is most assuredly in the archive.

Oh, and don't think that you could somehow shut it down, as they've been moving backups to Canada. This is in addition to its archives in Egypt and Amsterdam.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but its my understanding that the U.S. military does NOT target children.

In fact, they put some effort into avoiding so called "collateral damage".

Correct me if I'm wrong, but pretty sure plenty of innocents have been killed by the US since the turn of the century despite the effort of avoiding collateral damage.

At least our people try to avoid killing innocents.

Yes it's an unfortunate reality of war.

However that's why war should be avoided wherever possible, and anyone supporting it should lose sleep at night even if it's the right decision, because it should require a lot of consideration.

Then again most of us aren't armchair fascists who would trade away everything else for having their religious beliefs forced on a country and shrug away any military action with the circular logic that if it's their country doing it then it's fine because it's their country doing it.

    Oh please.

You know (and would admit if if someone besides me was making the argument) that sometimes war is far and away the most humane option.

I've said nothing about outlawing either one.

You certainly cannot outlaw sexual proclivities and preferences.

Than allowing genocide to take place for one as in Rwanda in 1994 (and many other places).

Allowing brutal oppression to take place for one as in North Korea right now (an many other places).

Than allowing a dangerous tyrant to continue in power as in North Korea now and Iraq in 2003.

Than allowing terrorists a safe have as in Afghanistan in 2001.

Than allowing nations to get away with aggression (too many examples to list).

    How soon we forget:
Those rights include engaging in sexual intercourse with the consenting partner of their choice. Take away those rights, and that act becomes illegal. You know, sodomy laws. If you oppose gay rights, then you de facto support sodomy laws.

So you’d prefer a U.S. incursion that kills more civilians up front in a shorter period of time. Got it.

    That's you talking not me.

I for one would prefer a "U.S. incursion" that predominantly kills those oppressing others or committing genocide.

Why do you hate the innocent non Americans Garamet?
