Matt Reeves clarified that his Batman movie just won't have cameos or references to other JL members, it's still in the world of the DCEU.

I can definitely see that. Cena's not a bad actor, and he's shown he can do comedy (he's hilarious in Trainwreck). He's also a good physical opponent for The Rock, if they ever get Black Adam on screen.

Interestingly, the casting sheet refers to the character as Captain Marvel, not as Shazam (as the character is now called in the comics).

not to disagree but I'm eager as fuck to see Reeves do with Batman what he did with the Apes. I have no position on whether it's continuity or not but it's a movie I want to see.

yeah, I noticed that in the video describing him and that dude from Galavant as the finalists (which is to say, suits will definately want Cena for the name rec if nothing else)

Maybe it's like how Speilberg doesn't want Speilberg movies in "Ready Player One", he thinks it looks like it's sucking his own dick.

I never understood why they thought they couldn't use those themes in the new movies.
