You know what the most secure place for POTUS to be on 9/11? Right there in that school. Why? Because the Secret Service needed time to assess the attack and determine if other places were targets.

Remember the planes hit the buildings but the Pentagon and the plane in the field came later.

Until the orders went out to start grounding all aircraft except military ones moving POTUS would be a bad idea.

POTUS has all the gear he needs to communicate with anyone in the world at any time. Gathering information wasn't a problem for him.

The plane that was crashed in Somerset County, PA was presumably headed towards the White House. By that point, many passengers had heard of the other attacks, hence the passenger-led takedown. And thank God for that selfless act.

That's why the fuck you don't just act without reason, Tererun. That plane could've just as easily landed on the WH or any other major building Bush could've immediately ran towards.

I'll say again: there are so many other things that he fucked up with, but this doesn't even make the top fifty of that list. No President since FDR has had to deal with an attack on our own soil, and none have had to deal with outside terrorism of this scale, because as a nation, all of us thought this only happened in other countries and we were immune to this. I do think our nation being armed to the teeth is part of the reason there haven't been more attacks since like France (which reminds me, anyone here FB friends with @Asyncritus ? He splits time in two countries, but I hope he's okay) but it still shook us up to the core and we will feel the affects of this for decades.
