Not necessarily. They could have been upset by the huge carbon footprint inherent in air travel. The attack could have been motivated by global warming. I'm sure the FBI and State Department will investigate that angle.

Cute. Not really. But more noteworthy is that this is yet another example of terrorists striking a target in an Islamic country. Kind of proves the point that terrorism doesn't equate to Islam.

We can be sure it wasn't Islamic Terrorism because that doesn't exist, I'm told.

Truly. It couldn't be connected to Islam because it took place in an Islamic country, just as @gul said.

So I'm thinking it's either global warming related or somehow connected to the Euro 16 tournament, as the official airline is Turkish air.

Man, I'm glad I got to travel Turkey before it became an undesirable location to go to.

Great country, not so sure now.

Well, it's a good thing Turkey doesn't allow people to own semi-automatic weapons or things could have been much worse.

Same old rhetoric from the Islamic Bomber Association: backpacks full of ball bearing-laden semtex don't kill infidels; heroic brothers on their way to 72 virgins in Paradise kill infidels!

Yet the EU remains under the sway of the machine tool and car industries that keep demanding access to ball bearings. What Turkey and other countries need to do is make people sign a form when they buy bearings, saying they will only be used for approved applications in rotating machinery.

You can't have it both ways, dumbass. If it's about Islam, then they cannot have Islamic targets. The logic is irrefutable, which is why you'll choose a course of anger and insults if we discuss the matter.

Good to know the troubles in Northern Ireland or abortion clinic bombings have nothing to do with Christianity, as those all targeted Christians.

    Sure they can.

Muslems have been killing each other pretty much since Mohammed's time. The Shi'a/Sunni split occurred in the first generation after the prophet.

Do you think Catholic vs. Protestant action has no religious basis? After all, they're both Christians...
    Eh, refuted.

You know what the worst crime in Islam is? Apostasy. That is, knowing what is the proper Islamic path and choosing not to walk it. In the eyes of ISIS, any Muslem who doesn't conform to their view of Islam isn't much of a Muslem at all.

Oh, yes, I can. You don't set the rules. Islamic terrorism does indeed involve Islam despite your laughable denials or your claim that Islamists can't be Islamic if they attack other Islamic countries. The reality is the Islamists consider Turks to be overly westernized and not very religious. They are also upaet that Turkey joined the anti-ISIS coalition.

I consider that a good thing but Islamists don't agree.

Sorry, but your very statement about apostasy makes my point quite nicely. ISIS and their ilk don't consider most Moslems to be true Moslems. Clearly this non-ISIS group cannot be grouped with the people who reject them. And yet you fools continue to do it. You are quite simply wrong.

Christians in Iraq have said that ISIS is often much worse for Muslims than Christians. They demand tax money from Christians and then let them go on about whatever stupid things Christians do. But if they catch a Muslim violating anything Al Baghdadi has decreed they string them up as an apostate.

Yeah I was at the gym right after work and saw this crazy shit but couldn't watch it much because I had to turn my head way to the left to see the TV that had the news on, and it was making me dizzy on the treadmill. But I caught bits & pieces of it - wow this is crazy.

And they have a good point. Many supposed Muslims don't kill homosexuals, and are thus apostates who must be put to death. Some Muslims take pictures of cats, which is forbidden and so they must be put to death. Other Muslims have imbibed alcohol, which means they are apostates and must be put to death. Some support secular Muslim governments, which is contrary to Islam, so they are apostates and must be put to death.

I didn't realize you can tell them apart so easily. Do the radicals wear special T-shirts or something? Please tell me how this works.

Hopefully, it doesn't rely on the same kind of resources employed to examine the Orlando shooter. Because that was 1 guy and the FBI couldn't figure it out despite all the warning signs.

The problem would surely be much more difficult with tens or hundreds of thousands of people with little documentation...

What does any of that have to do with it, unless you are advocating that we punish people simply for sharing ethnicity with a terrorist.

Other than wanting a population with a significant number of radicals to stay out of my country until they can be adequately cleared, I don't want to punish anyone.

    Oh, and...
