I would never purchase trump brand trash. I make it my business to help people who cannot get to places like the DMV and local state offices to register to vote, and to get to vote with my resources. I try to bring people together and lift up those around me while confronting ignorance and lack of understanding. I support organizations I feel do good and provide services that help improve our communities. As for protesting I would attend some if they were around here, but they are not near me, and I can make a difference to people locally right now. If I am off shouting slogans at the capitol who helps the people in the trenches? I am not saying don't protest, but there is a need for local effort too.

I prefer subverting the effects of my opponents directly at the source. Open rebellion is nice, but going to the people in need has a direct effect and can be done anywhere.

besides which in the bigger scheme of things I probably give you more positive reps than anyone else here (when you post something I agree with of course).

Why not do all of those things? Anyone who can go down there and rescue people, anyone who can hide folks from the coming ICE immigration sweeps this weekend should do so, anyone who can get inside the camps and get pictures should. Protest the inaction of our congressmen. Share videos of enforcers harming people. Lots of stuff to do.

Amaris I have to agree with Tererun here - what kind of secret plan do you have to swoop in and save the day? Are you going to go all "A Team" on us? Yes I get that sometimes breaking the law might be the price to pay for saving people. But how would getting arrested or doing anything rash improve the lot of these folks? They already have plenty of advocates who are more experienced than anyone on wordforge.

Good advice but I don't think ICE are going to hold to the warrant of entry requirement when the folk they're coming for will be effectively disappeared, along with any evidence of law-breaking. They and Border Patrol are drunk on power, knowing the POTUS will back up any depravity. That's why we have a DoJ lawyer this week seriously arguing that because the law about safe and sanitary confinement doesn't specifically say you get soap, you can rot in your own filth for weeks on end. Without sleep, because it doesn't specifically say that either. Hell, if they could argue that putting a round in the head of every inmate made them safer and more sanitary, I'm not convinced they wouldn't fucking try it.

They don't even give a shit about abusing their authority when it's a US citizen (and a journalist) involved, so why would they worry about violating the rights of those they consider less than human?
