Weren't there a bunch of court decisions that said you could not involuntarily commit someone to a mental care facility unless they were a danger to themselves or others? I've read that has been part of the problem as well.

So it's more than a little disingenuous to suggest that any legislative policy from almost 40 years ago has given rise to the tent cities, typhus outbreaks, and streets full of shit springing up in our downtown areas in the last few years.

Earlier in this thread, I took the time to explain to you my statement about Reagan and his position on the homeless and mentally ill. I explained my position without a single drop of rancor or ire, cited my sources so you could investigate in-depth it for yourself, and you just marked it "dumb." That's it. No response. Just "dumb." No one has any reason to trust you. No one has any reason to work with you. No one has any reason to cooperate when you make demands. You crow the loudest, make an awful racket in every thread, and yet have the least to say.

Oh, and about the federal officer incident, an agent of the federal government contacted Wordforge. They explained everything to the owners. You downplay something that was taken seriously by a group of people who could have this board shut down. You dismiss something that could have shut Wordforge down. I know some of the guys don't think that would have happened, but you introduced the distinct possibility that it could have because of your actions. You got the government to point a magnifying glass at Wordforge, something I'm sure many of the posters wouldn't necessarily appreciate. That was on you, Dayton, and no one else.

I don't ignore the needy. I've given a substantial amount of money to assist people in need. I don't talk about it much as I don't want to be accused of virtue signaling (something I detest).
