The Toronto Police Service has developed a Mobile Crisis Intervention Team for exactly this.
It used to jsut be a couple of cruisers worth of cops would show up to subdue somebody in crisis. Now it's maybe two cops and a mental health nurse, all of whom are trained for these sorts of things. Nobody gets put on the ground or stuffed into a squad car, but rather they help contain someone safely until the paramedics arrive. By the time that happens, the person having a meltdown is frequently calmed down enough to either be allowed to go about their business or make a somewhat rational choice to let the ambulance take them to a mental health centre.

We also use them when having somebody picked up under one of the various forms involved in Community Treatment Orders. These are usually folks in our care that have more severe and complex psychiatric conditions, like schizophrenic or FAS plus an addiction or C-PTSD, where they've got a demonstrated past of violent reactivity.

I have seen many many police people play paintball, and that tracks for a good percentage of them.

I remember one time my teenage friends were playing a group of them. It CT and snow is on the ground, and this goofball cop is going down a hill towards the flag station after walking by one of my friends who was really obviously out in the open and was just standing still. This fucking idiot cop is walking with my friend following about 30 feet behind, and I guess he hears something, so he decides to do the ninja roll thing a couple of times as he enters the flag station area. So he does two rolls with his gravity fed pump gun. Anyone who knows realizes he has probably let the pump slide, the ball fall out of the breach or worse yet half way into it, and disoriented himself in the snow while making a lot of noise so anyone hidden would know he is in the ambush area of the flag station and totallyu outside of cover. In both of his rolls he misses my friend who is right behind him just aiming at him in the open, scream I got the flag as he is reaching 10 feet from it, and my friend just plugs him while I fall out in the snow laughing my ass off.

This is how cops play and do things. A lot of them have watched way too many movies, and have taken way to many ninja self defense courses. Anyone who knows self defense knows there is the ninja style ones that pretend to teach you how to do flips and rolls that would get you killed if you ever did them. This guy is at least 25 percent of your street cop sheriff force. I would say probably more, but they are nervous, fidgety, and scream crazy shit at the drop of an acorn.

This is why they would do somewhat better to try and go for people who have actually been through military boot camp and have been deployed in combat. Those guys tend to not do crazy barrel rolls and other comical moves which only serve to get you off your feet and prone. Rule number one of being under fire, if you get off your feet you have to get back on them so you better never do it where you can be shot. It is forever for a human being, even one in shape, to get up onto their feet and into momentum for moving. If the enemy can see you, then you are a slow moving almost immobile target to shoot.

Okay, y'all might remember oldfella saying "Well, don't call the cops, call a hippie, if you hate the police so much."? And me pointing out that I had good reasons to know that there wasn't any point in calling the cops? I got another reason.

See, right now, my only source of transportation is an electric bike. For complicated reasons, I happen to have two of them, and one of them got stolen. (Idiots stole the one that was broken, but that's another story.) Anyway, since the original price of the bike is over $500, I figured it'd be a good idea for me to file a police report since I might be able to get at least a little bit back from my insurance company.

Anyway, when I called the police, it literally took 30 fucking minutes for them to pick up the phone. Nor were they really interested in what I had to say to them. Doubt me?

    0000000000.jpg

Not only is that the non-emergency number for the police, but you've got the amount of time I spent on the phone with them. Go ahead and call it. You'll get what I got: Hold music for 29 minutes, then an automated recording telling you to "Press 1 for..." No idea of who I spoke to, as they didn't give their name, and once they got the basics (my name, why I was calling, contact info), they were like, "I'll let them know" and then they hung up.

Now, I'm a very lucky guy. I've got a great landlord. Seriously. When I've been unemployed, I've told him about it, and he's always said, "Don't worry about it until you get a job, and then just catch up as you can." I am 100% certain that he does this because I never complain to him about anything. I also know that his gross from this park (he owns others) is at least $400K/mo. so he's got a bit of pull with the city government. He and I are going to have a talk tomorrow about this, since he can almost certainly can get the attention of the mayor and others. In the meantime, all I have to say is that if you doubt this is real:

    You're delusional.

Not that anyone should be smacking the president, but you really need to be smacking that shit out his mouth or you just sound stupid because he is the president and you are not going to do shit about it if he does.

It is like @Uncle Albert to stop dressing like a girl. Make me bitch ass.

AL people have lots of money to pay this woman for the abuses of the racist police officer. He knows her boy was correct that ID is not required and she only had to give him a name. The town has nothing better to spend money on than harassing the black people who live there. They will give the officer a slap on the wrist and the taxpayers will pay for his privilege to harass and annoy black people. I do hope she buys some nice things with her settlement money and gets paid for the event.

Maybe someday the whypipo of AL will object and stop putting these racist jackbooted thugs in the police department, but until then just keep on transferring the money from the white taxpaying residents to the black people who have to deal with their harassment. They should call town taxes in AL reparations given how they should be given back to the black people for having to deal with AL racism.

    poll options on why:

    1. Thoughts and prayers (Teh Baba option)
    2. he used drugs at some point, skipped school, and was a complete thug and everyone knew that when this happened
    3. resisting arrest so they had to shoot him
    4. he made sudden threatening movements at police officers (AKA being black and they noticed him)
    5. officer thought his life was in danger from blackicide.

I am totally eliminating any option that they were completely wrong and anything will be done about it, as obviuously that is not the case because clearly he has black skin so cops had to shoot him. This is police 101, if black shoot. Don't even consider why you are shooting, just shoot the black kid. he had it coming for being black in the ACAB world.
