-Did I say I was shooting or impregnating or homosexualizing anyone personally?

-Not all violence is equal. Motivation and purpose and outcome matter. It's naive and delusional to suggest otherwise.

Nope, Dick Cheney was way ahead of his party in supporting gay marriage. I'm too lazy to do a deep dive because I'm on my phone, but as I understand it Cheney was openly supporting gay marriage years before Hillary or Obama did.

Cheney broke with conservative orthodoxy on same-sex marriage during his Oct. 5, 2000, vice presidential debate against Sen. Joe Lieberman.

Debate moderator Bernie Bernard Shaw of CNN asked the candidates if gay couples should "have all the constitutional rights enjoyed by every American citizen?"

"The fact of the matter is we live in a free society, and freedom means freedom for everybody," Cheney replied. "We don't get to choose, and shouldn't be able to choose and say, 'You get to live free, but you don't.' I think that means that people should be free to enter into any kind of relationship they want to enter into." (Watch the debate; Cheney discusses gay marriage at 1:17)

Cheney said the question of whether there should be an "official sanction" of same-sex relationships should be left to states -- which have traditionally overseen marriage laws. "I don't think there should necessarily be a federal policy in this area," he added.

Cheney’s stand drew criticism from conservatives and praise from gay groups, the New York Times reported.

Uncle Albert, Steve2^4, and 14thDoctor were engaged in a spirited debate about the fate of democracy. They had been arguing for hours, and they were all getting increasingly frustrated.

"Democracy is the only way to ensure that everyone has a voice," Uncle Albert said. "It's the only way to prevent tyranny."

"But democracy is failing us," Steve2^4 said. "It's too slow and inefficient. We need a new system, a system that can actually get things done."

"And what system would that be?" 14thDoctor asked. "Dictatorship? Monarchy? Fascism?"

"I don't know," Steve2^4 said. "But something has to change."

The argument continued to escalate, and soon the three men were shouting at each other.

"You're an idiot!" Uncle Albert shouted.

"You're the idiot!" Steve2^4 shouted back.

    "You're both idiots!" 14thDoctor shouted.

The three men started to push and shove each other, and soon they were rolling around on the ground, punching and kicking each other.

Suddenly, Uncle Albert grabbed Steve2^4's head and kissed him on the lips. Steve2^4 was so surprised that he stopped fighting. 14thDoctor stared at them in shock.

Uncle Albert pulled away and looked at Steve2^4. "There," he said. "Now we're even."

Steve2^4 didn't know what to say. He just stared at Uncle Albert.

"I'm sorry," Uncle Albert said. "I shouldn't have done that."

Steve2^4 shook his head. "No, it's okay," he said. "I kind of liked it."

Uncle Albert smiled. "Me too," he said.

The three men looked at each other for a moment, then they all started to laugh.

    "I guess we're all a little crazy," 14thDoctor said.

"Yes, we are," Uncle Albert said. "But that's what makes life interesting."

The three men hugged each other, and then they went their separate ways. But they never forgot that night, the night they kissed and made up.

Reports are that Nashville is almost certain to reappoint there guy, and Memphis is getting pressure from the leg to not do so lest they be denied funding they have been asking for, particularly funds earmarked to do work on FedEx Forum

I went into the military to get off welfare. during peacetime. And US military did not send women into combat in the early 90s. But, you’re correct. And I know I’ve relayed the story here before. But, I’ll repeat it.

I was stationed on the main post of Ft Benning. I had a friend who was stationed on Kelly Hill. That friend was out of a vehicle at the time - it could have been broken, her husband had it … I don’t remember. But, the point is, I was being a friend and driving her around when I could.

One morning, after PT (physical training), I drove over to Kelly Hill to pick up the friend.

Oh, I should also mention that Kelly Hill is a training base for combat engineers (infantry).

Second thing to mention is that on every US military base, when a convoy of vehicles are crossing a road, it’s like a train or funeral procession, everyone stops and waits for the vehicles to pass.

So, that morning, on the way to pick up the friend, I was stopped by a convoy of Bradleys (troop carriers). As I sat there, in my car, I could feel the earth shaking because of the vehicles. The air was black with smoke. And the ecologist in me was suddenly offended. These vehicles were causing problems for the earth and air. And why? The only purpose of these vehicles. The only purpose for all of this (the military on the whole) was to kill other people just like me - just trying to survive. To feed their families and to keep them safe.

That was the day I decided to get out of the military. I was 2 years into a 6 year enlistment. However, I was already experiencing issues with my knees and already been placed on medical “profile” - basically, that means I was allowed to not participate in overly strenuous activities like running or marching.

As I wasn’t contributing like I should and didn’t want to be in anyway, so I requested a medical discharge.

    My knees are still bad.

But, I feel better about what I do for a living.

Well … to start, I don’t perform the tasks, I don’t make the contracts, don’t choose to which HCPs get the contracts. Nor do I decide the going rates for out of pocket costs. I just ensure the invoice reflects what is allowed in the contract and that the business owner has confirmed the services were performed.
