Avoiding drama is usually easy - avoid the right threads and you never experience it. The very fact you post in this thread is a sign you brought drama on yourself, at least in this small measure.

I support Tamar staying where she is. As it is, I lean on her probably more than I should. But that's cuz she's reliable, regardless of the odd dust-up with whoever.

I think your opinion in the past and your opinion in the present don't conflict with each other at all. Tamar is a bit biased and makes some bad decisions, but this is a small noncommercial board run at the whim and expense of benevolent ownership with relatively high volume for such a board. A volunteer who puts in Tamar's hours is not easily replaced and while it's better for Admins not to be overtly biased and cliquey in their decisions it's not like she makes board cripplingly bad decisions, just drama inducing and idiotic-asshole coddling decisions.

I vote for Tamar to start encouraging the shunning of posters who try to drive away active members of the board rather than either her quitting or her continuing to vapidly excuse them as being mere trolls whenever those idiotic-assholes trying to drive people away are people who tend to side with her in an argument.

I would have no problem in her staying if should could start to employ such an approach. The question is that after all these years of the bias, is she capable of taking a more balanced approach?

I don't have a problem with any of the mods/admins that we have on staff now.

I wouldn't be opposed to rotating mods, though, if that's what Lanzman wanted to do.

Wordforge has changed immeasurably since the great migration, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to workout that some of the supposed core values may have been lost. Counter that though, these posters have grown together for years now, so it would appear their requirements have changed. One of these changes might being accepting Tamar as the admin despite the oft cited bias, perhaps because they recognise quite how much she puts into this place.

A quick glance at the poll in the other thread is enough to show you current opinion.

Well, if that's the case Tamar, I trust that from this point onwards there will be no need to be biased towards certain groups and there will, from this point forward, be nothing be impartiality and balance from you. That is to say that if someone shits on someone like Rickdeckard then your attitude will be the same as if someone we doing it on someone like, say, Ward.

I don't think that anyone here who has called out your bias would do anything other than acknowledge such a new approach if you indeed employed it (well, except maybe garamet).

It's down to you whether or not you go away and consider to yourself whether or not multiple people may have a point on the bias. It's down to you.

My opinions are my opinions and I will voice them as I see fit. Including commenting and not commenting where I feel like it, not based on some unrealistic idea I must comment on everything to comment on anything.

When it comes to Administrating, I will do my job in a fair manner, as I have always attempted to do.

I want to come back as an admin so I can peek at IP adresses again. I was an admin for a weekend once and I went nuts with the control panel.

The "peek into poster's secret diary" function is my personal favorite.

When I read Shelter threads and see you letting one poster get banned without saying a word, then rush to the defense of one of your buddies for breaking the same rule a week later, that makes me doubt how fair you are.

When I see you add smilies specifically to help one group troll another group, or to troll specific posters, that makes me doubt how fair you are.

When Lanzman has to intervene and delete or change smilies himself on more than one occasion because he thinks you've gone too far, that really makes me doubt how fair you are.

Just sayin'.

I wasn't here when garamet got banned...I found out about her and him at the same time. She used a real name on the board and Jamey used photos of random things that represented Ray but no one could have known what it meant. These were not the same thing no matter how often you try to equate them.

Garamet was guilty...there was nothing to say. With Jamey, I specifically told Lanzman I was not going to be a part of handling it to avoid the appearance of shenanigans. I voiced my opinion as anyone else who wanted to did...but I had no part in the official decisions regarding Jamey's guilt/innocence/punishment.

Then again, I've seen Chup trolling up non-Red threads and Lanz cut him slack and just give him a verbal. It's called mercy, not favoritism because, I think, he and the rest of the mods would rather encourage free discussion rather than crack down in too heavy-handed a manner.

Wait. Where have I heard that before? I think they've all said it multiple times. I see you and he are reading their posts about as well as you read anything else.

You know, despite the results of this poll, it is clear that even quite a few those who voted for you to stay on where talking about bias. Yet you still keep trying to defend against it, despite at least 10-15 people now having mentioned it, vote in support or not.

This might be the time to go away and quietly think about it and get on with modship if that is indeed what your want to do.

Your job now is to correct the view of those who think you you are biased. You are not going to be able to do that by posting a defence every five minutes in these threads, because all that says is that the view of those 10-15 people don't matter to you.

You have your poll support and it might now be more dignified to show those who's support you have lost that you are prepared to take on board what has been said, rather than sticking your fingers up with defences and gloating.
