I'd get rid of it, personally. If a thread is totally spammy and worthless, it'll disappear quickly as a result of nobody posting in it. If people do post in it, then clearly they've made a choice to engage with the thread and have a discussion there. It's not unheard-of for a spam thread to turn into an actual conversation. And if we do end up just shooting shit instead of having in in-depth discussion of whatever, that's fine. This isn't Debate Club.
It is nothing but a weapon to be selectively used by the mods. Does anyone really trust pieces of shit like John "Let's use discourage against my enemies" or Gul "I banned Castle for nothing and removed rep from a guy who dared to neg me"?
If the mods want to go through the hassle of the room I will use it for call out fun. I might even make some more call out threads considering they do muck up the other discussions. The problem I see happening is eventually there will need to be some sort of slap on the wrist for those who do not comply. Lots of people consider themselves trolls here and non compliance with rules is part of being a troll. So you will have to enforce eventually as someone is just going to troll with call out threads in the red room. I actually agree that if used the violet room may actually be needed around here at this time do to the volume of call out threads and not wanting to trash bin them, but wanting to make things a little easier to browse.
This is the red room, it is the place for the petty arguments and sissy-slapfighting, as for the baba and shitty parody threads, just delete them.
Deleting threads isn't really a good idea. The way Xenforo deletes threads leaves holes, and that leads to fragmented files in the database. It's far easier, and safer, to just move them.
Yeah, it's just something I'm really hesitant to do. While I make regular backups of the database, it's a pain in the ass when something goes wrong. Obviously, we blame @packard for whatever happens, but I still have to fix it. Edit: Goddamit, packard, change your name back!
