Calum Davenport is in danger of losing his leg, after being stabbed repeatedly early Saturday morning. Two men showed up at his door, after he told his sister that he didn't like the crowd she was hanging with. Cesc Febregas could be out of the Arsenal side for three weeks with a hamstring injury. The Gunners host Celtic on Wednesday, and travel to Manchester United on Saturday. In his first appearance for Hull, USA International Jozy Altidore provided the assist in a 1-0 win over Bolton. The 19 year-old is on loan from Villareal.
Go Burnley! The town may be the rotted-arse of a dead donkey, but it's good to see they're putting on a show - still think they'll be getting relegated though. Spuds have made it three out of three, and seem to be able to perform away now. Next few weeks ought to be interesting too, as Man ure, Man City and Arsenal go head-to-head - should see if City really do have quality to challenge for a top 4 spot, if Utd are going to be able to challenge for the title and if Arsenal's season is going match it's early promise.
I just played badminton with a Bolton fan who hopes that Bolton get thrashed in the next game and it costs Megson his job. What do you think? Gone sooner the better or give him a chance?
Getting rid of Smegsons all well and good, but who do we replace him with? He'll keep us up, but thats it. Where Big Sam kept doing incremental improvements, making us a top 10 side, then starting to inch into Europe, Smegheads turning into a bottom-of-the-table hangers on. We need to get rid once we're safe, then look for someone who can do a job on a budget, but get get us climbing towards the top 10 again. We'll get tubbed on Saturday, a good tactician can snuff Liverpool out quite easily at the moment. Sadly we have Smeggers.
Bah, I still think Villa are shit. They just caught Liverpool on a bad day, with stupid mistakes from Lucas and Gerrard. And the gap Alonso's left in midfield is beginning to look bigger and bigger...
Fuck me! Sounds like the Football Factory is getting acted out at Upton Park tonight. Saw the pictures from inside the stadium, looked bad enough, supposedly mental outside it!
^A lot of the hoolies are getting back together - a tanking economy always seems to equate lots of fighting.
Coming home this evening on the Underground, I knew something was fishy when the tube driver announced delays on the District Line due to an "incident" at Upton Park station. Then I remembered West Ham were hosting Millwall.
When I saw this being reported, the first thing I thought of was that movie "Green Street Hooligans". I didn't even realize that the clubs in the movie were the same ones represented in this most recent bit of trouble. What a bunch of trash.
Fucks sake! I was expecting to get tubbed by the scousers today, instead - until a bad fucking refereeing decision - we were matching them, and in the lead. 3 points for Liverpool, but given we're not a very good team right now and managed to trouble them so much, it tells you just how bad Liverpool are this season. I think if they're going to finish in the top 4 this season, it'll be in the manner Arsenal did it last season - relying on other teams to lose form in the last quarter of the season.
The sending off was very harsh, not sure if Liverpool would have won had Davis not been sent off. Bolton are a very poor team. That's the first I've seen of them this season and they are awful. It's gonna be a job to keep them up. Talking of awful, how about this challenge and resulting injury today from the Belgium league? Not for the faint hearted.
I didn't notice the ankle the first couple of times, then... uke: I think there's a good chance we're going down - a lot of it depends on if Brum, Wolves, Burnley and Hull can keep picking up points. Along with us they're the worst teams. Portsmouth are going down either way. If we can pick up 10 points in the next 7 matches, we're in with a chance, if not...
So my team Motherwell, pumped Man U yesterday. Wev got Rangers on Saturday, if we beat them then we are surely champions of Britain??
^you'd have to take out one of the Welsh teams as well, one of the giants like Connahs Quay The beeb have an article with McClaren, he seems a little delusional about his time as England boss - seems it was just the fates that condemned him, nothing to do with the fact he made a complete and utter tit of himself.
McClaren was a joke of a manager. I still haven't forgotten his pathetic interview after a dismal draw with Israel during qualification, "We made Israel look ordinary..." They looked ordinary because they're shit, McClaren you twat! Capello's been the busniness so far, easy qualification in a group no harder than the one McClaren fucked up so badly.
You were dealing with someone who, upon getting the England job, felt his first step was to get his teeth fixed. He wanted to be their pal, their buddy, which isn't what a manager does. Seeing Capello not take any shit, and quite happy to give it to the prissy little prima donnas when they fuck up, is a wonderful change. Here's hoping we'll stuff Croatia tomorrow as a big fuck you to McClaren.
We pumped LLenelli in Europe this season already, granted they weren't welsh champions but they'll do!
