It's the document wherein the American people create the government of the United States and define its limited powers. You might want to read it.

Dude. I have read it. As well as many books regarding law and economics. I have an understanding of how all three are tied together. and that's why I know what you are saying is wrong.

I'll leave it to anyone reading this exchange to determine how much "understanding" you have.

    To recap, you think:
    1. Contracts are for controlling capitalism.
    2. The U.S. Constitution is an agreement between the government and the people.
    3. The government dispenses rights to the people.

Did you read those books, or just look at the dust jacket and nod? Because you clearly don't understand how any of this works.

You've just proven you have no ability to comprehend what you read.

So now you get that there can be gradations in public policy and it's never all or nothing.

Let anyone suggest that the government do something you don't like, and it's all "no no no, slippery slope! If the government can tell you to wear masks in movie theaters, the government also has the right to murder you in your bed!"

Let anyone try applying the same principle to laissez-faire capitalism and suddenly there's room for nuance.

I never said otherwise. Don't project your preconceived notions about my opinions on to me.

There are limiting principles to what is acceptable, though. One should not infer that ANY regulation is okay because some is.

"You can't dump dioxin in the reservoir" is a good regulation. "You must sell your widgets for no more than $5" is not.
No, but big state solutions usually involve big states gaining power, and that power can be misused. When the emergency goes away, the emergency powers must be relinquished.
In terms of the economic questions--what should be produced? For whom? At what price?--the state has no legitimate role except at the very extremes.
