100mW focused on a very small spot is an enormous power density. It's like using a magnifying glass and focusing the sun's rays on a small spot...incinerate ants, burn paper, etc.
It could definitely burn a hole in someone. But until they come up with something TNG+, I'll stick to 9 mms.
