http://www.reuters.com/article/dome...ageNumber=1&virtualBrandChannel=10522&sp=true GO PORTLAND!! Smoke weed every day!!
I'm not sure I get this -- is it a big deal because people can sit at this place and smoke? That's kinda cool then.... Coffee Shop Blue Sky in Oakland, a place I sometimes 'walk by', does pretty much everything this place does, but admittedly you can't smoke there, or so I've been told. As for the community college -- pfft. We have Oaksterdam University in Oakland...
Must be because we're surrounded by places where you can legally buy marijuana. We even get coupons for a free bag for first time customers. It's about time marijuana was legal for everyone. Not to rehash the entire debate but it's a win/win/win/win.
I'm afraid to get my club card. I don't want it to affect my future. My dumb decisions as a young adult in college, then have that affect my opportunities to work at a university after graduate school. If I could be sure it would not affect my future, I should get one then!
Hey, I'm not advocating anything except for adults having the legal option to purchase marijuana. And what's this about a club card? Here's a sample of ads from Orange County CA. No mention of a club card but you gotta love the fact you can have your nub delivered.
Well, it's a good first step, but the medical conditions under which you can legally smoke is pathetically small. The list needs to have more conditions that are covered. Example: No mental health conditions are listed. I know many people that are much better on Pot than on Anti-Depressants or Anti-Anxiety drugs. Pot works for both conditions. I also feel it would help people suffering from Anorexia.
I disagree. It carries on the charade of using a substance under government approval, when the better solution is to tell government it has no right to dictate which substances are appropriate for recreational use.
If Obama had balls and believed in this, he would CHANGE THE LAW. All this does is weaken law enforcement, and because of that, our safety.
O....M.....G! We may have misunderestimated Obama. Let me preach on: Fast forward a few years if you will - things look grim for Obama. He's likely to lose the Presidential Election. But he has "an ace up his sleeve" of Biblical proportions - he totally (across the breadth + width of this great nation) legalizes weed. If he doesn't win the election with that, his "hope + change" has been driven asunder! EVERYONE I know (conservative + liberal, young + old) agrees we need to shit or get off the pot (no pun intended) over this issue. History proves Prohibition only encourages crime and bloodshed. Since the demand will always be here, let's keep the production here, "transparent" + legal and taxed and regulated. Just my two cents!
It's hella easy to get a medicinal card in California: depression, anxiety, insomnia, anorexia, having the doctor poke your back and ask you if it hurts and you say yes, and much more. They do cover mental health conditions. I have friends who have gotten it for depression and insomnia. It definitely helps my depression, that's the main reason I want it. When I'm high, I'm finally happy for once!
If Obama had put in an instruction that it wasn't a priority to enforce certain firearms laws I'm sure you would be reacting exactly the same way.
I just went in and bullshitted to an abortionist about insomnia and anxiety. Eighty dollars later, I had legalised pot.
Oh really? Like what? Because I'm not seeing it. I don't break the law, especially in regards to guns.
When we selectively enforce laws, it weakens the rule of law and advances the rule of man. We're a nation of laws; laws should be enforced, or removed from the books. Anything else defies our values of impartiality.
He may be a retard, but in his own special way he has a point. Issuing an executive order is very easily done. If Obama is serious about this he will lobby for Congress repeal the law or at the minimum reschedule Marijuana. He threw a bone to the dogs, but nothing he has done will effect the next administration.
