    I'll look for it.

Question, is tipping a thing in Germany?

Yes. 10% is usual, for waiters and cab drivers. You don't pay the tip separately, but overpay when you settle the bill: So for instance, if the bill is for € 14,50, you'll give them a €20 bill and say "make that 16, please", they give you back €4. Credit cards etc. are often possible but not all that common, and only few establishments will allow you to pay a tip through a credit card, so you'll usually hand over some coinage along with your card or signature there.

For hotel staff, tipping is optional and usually left for the end of your stay (and yes, this is unfortunate as it doesn't help you bribe them to treat you well), though I gather you're possibly not staying at hotels anyway.

Oh, also, all retail and restaurant prices include the tax, it is not listed separately, though your final bill will have an additional line printed that tells you which percentage is tax.

Well today was day three. I've eaten many mysterious sausages, :flow: mastered the Munich transit system, and experienced Oktoberfest. Tomorrow we're off to see some castles, then one more day of Munich.

Do Germans have a thing about stepping to the side? Any time I interact with bikers or pedestrians I naturally try to move to the right, that's when the step right in front of me. :bailey:

If you've truly mastered the transit system, you should stay and offer courses. No one else has.

Are you kidding, it's not like it's run by the morons that run the Seattle subway system. Sheesh.

I don't recall the subway in Munich being all that difficult.

Maybe it helped that I was rather drunk much of the time I was there. :matt:

Well I don't remember the trip home from Oktoberfest, so it can't be that hard.

Also not hard, walking out of a beer tent with ceramic mugs. Silly Germans, they were in my bag!

You are on Romantic Road, nice! You should also check out Baden-Baden, good for post Oktoberfest detoxification and cleanse. You just have to be comfortable being naked in front of others.

A video would likely be bigger than that, but so might a picture actually. Did you try just one at a time?

The file size limit for this board is lower than 2.5MB. I just tried to upload a single photo from my phone and it was too big at 2.4MB.

That's why I upload most of the photos I post here to my Photobucket account. It automatically reduces the file size when you upload there.
