Exactly, and I couldn't have said it better without being given a staff writing position and was paid in blowjobs (no one ever pays me :( ). The fact of the matter is that we're learning to please a set of curricula that was created to encourage attending a traditional college. Our job market has been turned on it's ear, and so we have to open up new avenues for vocations rather than going to college to get a degree and end up flipping burgers with that $50,000 degree (I'm guesstimating there). I believe in a well rounded education, but some people want to cut directly to the chase, and for good reason.

:tantrum: You are bitching about this, yet you haven't even bothered to participate in the poll. Very interesting.

II would have killed for a high school class about basic personal finance. How to balance a checkbook, how to manage debt, the basics of credit cards, the basics of retirement accounts, etc.

Yes, it is interesting that you're so easily upset by my opinions.

As for your poll, there's no teh baba option.

More to the point, my answer would be "should be considered on a case by case basis."

    Oh, you're hardly that.

    Try again Margaret.
So as is always the case with a loser likeyou, there would be no answer. You bitch about the opinion aspect of the thread, yet refuse to participate in the poll asking for your opinion. Keep up the good work Margaret.

Good job trolling. I bet you hate the fact that the management here isn't as weak willed as tbbs where they bow down to your every complaint and ever whim. At least in your case Tamar is impressed with your "improved" posts.

I have not 'tried' at all, since I have no interest in your countrymen's reluctance to feed your children.

You're clearly infatuated with me, and I do wonder why.

    Grow the fuck up.

Plus, your poll sucks. There are more answers than "yes" or "no" and anyone who holds one of those opinions won't be answering.

Some years ago, someone did a survey of the availability of supermarkets in Los Angeles County.

To no one's surprise, they discovered that chain supermarkets were plentiful in upscale neighborhoods, and became scarcer and scarcer as the median income dropped. In addition, where these stores would be open 24 hours in middle- and upper-class neighborhoods, most closed at dusk in poorer neighborhoods.

Essentially, anyone living in a working class neighborhood who happened to get home from work before nightfall, or had a car to drive a mile or more to a middle-class neighborhood to shop had an advantage.

Curiously, the local McDonald's and Taco Bell were open late, and offering a selection from their dollar menus.

One tries to imagine a parent coming home from work to a bunch of hungry kids and saying "Oh, sorry, kids. Better you go hungry than eat fast food, because KIRK needs to buy the latest Droid and support the Billionaire Lear Jet Relief Fund."

Yeah, nothing to do with petty crimes committed against retailers in poorer neighborhoods. They should just accept some loss from shoplifting, to make a point of showing how they treat all neighborhoods equally.

We can discuss the fact that poor people are more apt to steal groceries than middle-class people if you'd like, although Victor Hugo's way ahead of both of us. We can even do a sidebar on the irony of people paying Broadway prices to see Les Miz.

As long as we simultaneously acknowledge that poor people might stop at McDonald's once in a while instead of taking two buses to the "nearest" Ralph's.

    Can we do that?

I'm not interested in the kind of diseased thinking that excuses people for making a poor choice just because it also happens to be the easier choice.

Considering your diet, this is amusing.

Considering you don't have to make choices for anyone but yourself and your little rat dog, your narrow perspective is understandable.

Bullshit. He also doesn't (nor is he likely to) have his hand outstretched and ask that someone else pay for whatever consequences may arise due to the shortcomings you're alleging are in his diet.

No relativistic apologism, either. People being weak and lazy are just people being weak and lazy.

And what the hell do you know about my diet? It's actually surprisingly healthy.

And people are only poor because they're weak and lazy.

Only the lunchtime photos you've posted in the past. How many burritos for lunch today, Porky?

Margaret Wander Bonanno gets off on seeing her name printed, even at sites like this. If that were not the case she wouldn't have allowed her name to be used for long periods of time at WF, or at big blue. The only reason I know what her name is because of that. The only reason why any of you know what her name is because it was used at these sites.

No, they hit the drive through instead of leaving their neighborhood to find a grocery store that will stay open after dark, because they are weak and lazy.

My burrito consumption is about once every two weeks, on pay day. The rest of the time, I snack on fruit and nuts throughout the day, usually something like a turkey sandwich and low-sodium soup for lunch.

I do have a family-sized box of Zaterain's and some sausage to chop up in it. Maybe I'll make that tonight...

If that were true, you'd be able to show us where, other than in your posts, the name appears in the Red Room.

I just get a kick out of seeing how many times you're willing to keep Babaesquely repeating it.

Oh how cute. There was time when Cass was stupid enough to make you a moderator. Hell, your god forsaken name showed up on the workshop for years Margaret. Feel free to play your games with which room, or area of WF your name has or hasn't shown. But, most including Tamar know you have not attempted to hide who you are. For christ sakes, you still have your name listed in your profile at big blue.

If you dislike people using, or knowing your name, than don't fucking put it out there. It isn't as if I'm giving out some personal information others do not already know.

Actually, it was Storm who asked me to moderate the Workshop, under my username.

Yes, the username "garamet" showed up in the Workshop while I was moderator, as, for example, in this thread.

You have yet to show where, except in your OCD posts, my Real Life name has appeared anywhere in the Red Room.

What I dislike is the absence of reciprocity. It's a big word. I'll wait for you to look it up.
