    Songbird.

A free open source music player that can sync most iPods and many other mp3 players. It has some cool features, not the least of which is that it isn't windows media player or itunes.

It integrates with last.fm, shoutcast, and a bunch of other crap. Automatically shows information about the currently playing artist/song/album.

Available for windows, linux, and OS X.

FTK Imager - Can recover a complete image or files from a failed hard drive. Used primarily by police, it has chain of custody resources built into it. I'm using it right now, and it seems to have been working fantastically.

Hiren's Boot CD - Similar to ultimate boot disk, Hiren's BootCD includes trouble shooting tools for HDD's, Memory Testing, etc., as well as a Linux OS that can be loaded in memory only. With a full toolset of anti-virus / anti-malware programs, it is a good companion to Ultimate Boot CD.
