OK. As you may already know, I've been a bit pissed with Dodge for discontinuing the Avenger. And I was sorely disappointed with them when they brought back the venerable Charger as a sedan. I mean, it isn't a terrible car, but it isn't a Charger. If they wanted to do a beefy sedan with that modern Dodge grille, they should've come up with a different name. But I was starting to cope with it. Oh, there's no way in Hell I'd buy one, but I was less and less horrified and disgusted by it. Of course now, for 2008, they've brought back the Avenger. As a sedan. And it is only available as an automatic transmission. And it looks like a littler version of the Charger. Someone must die.
Saw a new Avenger yesterday. Took me a second to figure out what it was...looks like a 90% scale Charger. I thought it looked pretty good.
I'd love to get my hands in the new Camaro thats due out soon, but for $30,000 thats a little more than I can afford. What I REALLY want "and will probably end up getting" is the new 2006 Ford Mustang GT. (All Black 300hp V8 w/5-speed Manual Trans)
Well this thread turned out different. Here I was thinking we were to be regaled with stories about Volpone's new boytoy.
God Yank cars suck, did they throw someone in to a dark room when they designed those "things" Real car Aston Martin Vanquish S http://wallpaper.diq.ru/17__Aston_Martin_V12_Vanquish_S.htm
No, they're just designed for men who don't like taking it up the poop chute. And I'd take my Ram Air 429 CobraJet over that.... thing on the 1/4 anyday.
Okay so I went and looked up your 'British' Car. Hmmm... So it appears to have a real engine... I am forced to change my opinion. It is not gay like Storm's Miata, merely metrosexual like Evenflow's Jetta.
At least the new Mustangs look like Mustangs again. Other than that, designers have forgotten what "muscle cars" are supposed to look like.
I wasn't aware that I had! Perhaps you're taking something I said far more seriously than it was intended? I certainly wasn't trying to piss you off. In the US that car costs $255,000. Yahoo's currency converter says that's 127,000 British pounds.
Eh. The only good Dodges are trucks these days, and I'm not duking it out in rush hour traffic driving a fucking Power Wagon.
Actually, there might be something to it. There have been rumors for months that Ford was making a 4-door mustang, which have caused riots in the Mustang and Muscle Ford community. So much trouble that Bill Ford made a statement that the Mustang was a 2door pony car, and would be so as long as there was a Ford Mo Co to make it. Then Ford comes out with a 4door sedan based on the Mustang platform...
Boo Mustangs... can't get myself to like them. Then again, I'd rather have a car that functions in all weather (like snow) and won't get pulled over by every cap that sees me.
As for the Ford Mustang, it is still a pretty cool car, but these days the only people I know personally who have them and go nuts over them are chicks. In my mind it's kind of a chick car.
Mustangs don't really do much for me because everybody around here seems to have one. The exception to that is my friend's Roush Mustang. That car looks sweet. He bought it as an Air Force retirement gift to himslef and it looks very similar to this one:
Never understood the "everybody has one" consideration. Is it a practical machine for transporting you and your shit around, or a piece of fucking costume jewelry? Yeah, everybody has one. That means chances are good that the guy at the parts store, salvage yard, or garage will have heard of the vehicle. I see this as a good thing.
In the case of sports cars, it's the latter. Nothing practical about them (as you've stated on numerous occasions). I agree with you if you're talking about trucks, jeeps or other "practical" cars. If I'm going to spend the money for a "toy" like a sports car, I don't want to buy the exact same car that everybody else is buying.
