Newsmax has some fuckwittery on this - it's going to allow Hillary to become POTUS!!! Mwuhahahahaha!!!! How? Well, Biden will appoint Kamala to the SC. Hillary will replace her as Veep, then he steps down. Genius!!! And who's behind this sinister plot? https://crooksandliars.com/2022/01/newsmax-hillary-harris
I think Obama is a good guy who cares about our country. On the other hand, I get a Harrison Ford vibe from him, like "what, you nerds are still into me?"
Here's how I think Republicans will block the vote on Breyer's replacement. On the day of the vote, none of the Republicans will show up, this technically means that the Senate doesn't have a quorum, however, Senate rules are such that they automatically assume there is a quorum unless someone calls for a quorum check. To have a quorum, there must be 51 Senators present. All Manchin and/or Sinema have to do is then call for a quorum check, and when it's discovered that there's only 50 Senators there, the quorum fails, so no vote.
What do you think would happen if a Republican President were to say that he or she’s only going to nominate a white cisgender male? Would that be considered racist?
That's where you lost me. Your shitty bigot tribe would never let that happen. But please, do keep trying to pretend we're the REAL bigots. It's so adorable. In the way being shat on by a baby is.
Aww, he's pulling the "I'm not like the Nazis, I vote libertarian!" trick. Storm used to do that one. Remember all the Ron Paul stuff? I 'member!
You don't seem to understand that it was the de facto policy for decades that only white cisgender males were going to be nominated. It didn't even need to be said out loud. From 1789 until 1967, every nominee was a white cisgender male, and until 1981, every nominee was a cisgender male. Ooooh, Google found me something interesting: Rightwing Twitter feeds have also lit up with claims that Biden’s choice of a Black woman would constitute unlawful sex and race discrimination. Those playing the affirmative-action card were forgetting that in 1980 Ronald Reagan pledged to pick the first woman to sit on the nation’s highest court, appointing Sandra Day O’Connor the following year.
Please, you fragile little bitches think the great replacement is imminent if James Earl Jones sneezes on mic. Your crying wolf is long past used up.
Two wrongs make a right. #Equity That being said, yes, put a black woman on the court. Fine. Who cares.
That's what Sokar said about Obama, but he proceeded to spray blood out his ass for the next 8 years.
How is it racism to say "we've never had anyone with this particular perspective on the supreme court before, I think it's a good idea if we do?" Do you think it was right that women and non-whites had zero chance of being nominated for centuries? If that was wrong, that do you think is the best way to correct that error?
"The supreme court should accurately reflect the country it's judging" is a wrong now? Whatever happened to a jury of one's peers?
So it's not what Biden's doing that's a problem, it's the fact that he didn't justify it to you in the way you'd prefer?
It’s interesting that nobody objects to the fact that only two religious beliefs are reflected by the Supreme Court: Judaism and Catholicism. Not a Protestant or other religion on the bench. And it’s been that way for a very long time. I believe that most of the justices have been Catholic. Given the hatred that this nation has had for Catholics (it was a central tenet of the Know Nothing party before they morphed into the Republicans), it’s surprising that so many justices have been Catholic.
Gee, it’s almost like people are more concerned with the nominee’s politics than they are with their religion.
I would hope so. Unfortunately, @Paladin doesn’t agree with you. Or you for that matter. You both believe abortion is a religious issue, rather than a medical issue and a woman’s choice.
LOL, such dancing around the issue by FF and co. This guy said the thing you want to say: https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/en...-court-black-woman_n_61f57815e4b04f9a12bde42d That's a GOP senator, implicitly saying a person of colour can't be "nice" or "stately".
Sotomayor is an activist judge who recently said she didn’t know the difference between state an federal powers.
We already have Clarence Thomas. That's 11% of the bench. Blacks are 13% of the population. With two, they'd be overrepresented. Thus your appeal to "accuracy" is invalid.
Sandra Day O'Connor was nominated to the Supreme Court by President Reagan on August 19, 1981, thus fulfilling his 1980 campaign promise to appoint the first woman to the highest court in the United States. Biden’s only doing what he said he was going to do but modern “conservative” snowflakes are losing their shit. As usual.
