So in a few months when he is begging congress to declare war because he committed an act of war to stop a war are any of the trumpanzees going to even question the logic that a pre-emptive strike that did not cripple their war machine was the first shot in the actual war that he says he was trying to stop?

Which weapons? Where were they used? How many Americans were killed? When did this happen? I'm not saying he didn't, because I would be surprised if he didn't have a hand in things in Iraq. Remember, he was in Iraq because the government invited him there. That's kind of important. Why did they invite him? Did they do it because we asked them to so that we could kill him? Or did we just shit all over the Iraqis? If it's the former, then that's not such a bad thing, since it shows we're working with the Iraqi government. If it's the latter, then we've likely pissed off both the Iranians and the Iraqis and are now their common enemy.

You mean like when we quietly installed malware on the Iranian nuclear systems and killed Iranian nuclear scientists in Iran? Have you ever read (forget about the movie, as this scene is warped beyond recognition in the film) Starship Troopers by Heinlein? There's a scene where a trooper asks why they're bothering to train for a covert mission to sneak into a military base to assassinate someone when they could just as easily nuke the place. Sgt. Zim's response (again, in the book, not the movie) is that by doing a targeted assassination they're sending a message to their opponent. Instead of taking this guy out, like we did the Iranian nuclear scientists with an assassin who showed up on a motorcycle to put a bullet in their head, we did a missile strike. That ups the antie. We're no longer saying that this is a tit-for-tat situation, where either side can easily step-back and defuse things. We're putting a top leader of a nation on notice that we'll consider him to be the same as a leader of ISIS and hit him with a missile. So long as Trump is in office, that's going to make it harder to bring the Iranians to the negotiating table. And is that not where we want them? Which would you prefer? A negotiated settlement with Iran where we can be sure that their ability to make nuclear weapons are destroyed? Or the Iraq War 2.0 where we wind up invading their country and occupying it? Do you think that this event is more likely to get us the former or the latter?

And finally, let's say that the Afghanistan government decided to send a suicide bomber to kill the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff because they wanted us out of their country. Would you advocate for an immediate pull-out of US forces? Or would you say that the US needs to teach them a lesson? I doubt if you'd expect us to accept being Afghanistan's bitch, so I'm a little surprised that you think Iran should accept being ours.

Can any trumpanzee forge actually tell us how this stops Iran from doing anything war like? You killed a general, but you did not destroy military equipment, any military bases, or even large numbers of their troops. You did not hit their supply lines, cripple their infrastructure, or do much damage at all to them. He killed a general, not the leader, and some of the people around him while leaving 99% of their military up and running.

How has this stopped a war? Iran is not reliant on this guy. Your hit was not even good at demoralizing their fighters. It probably even made them more willing to fight. This did not accomplish anything for hurting Iran's forces. The only thing this might do is distract from impeachment hearings and maybe give trump a boost with his base. This was not even remotely strategically damaging to Iran. They can replace this guy and probably already have. This is like every military strike trump does. He bombs an airport and only damages broken jets and the airport is operational again in a few hours. He drops the biggest non nuclear bomb ever and misses almost everybody and there was no interruption in the enemy.

This is trump and he is so terrible at this. He did not even stop the protests in Iraq.

I think this is going to end up being the spark that lights the explosion for the left. We have no 9/11 to frighten people about Iran. The war with Iran is purely an aggressive war from our point because Iran has not given us a bloody nose. What is worse for the right is we have upcoming dem debates and Bernie being a top dog in them. This means that up until the primaries Bernie can start speaking about the dangers of war with Iran right to the core of the dem base. This continue the impeachment call, but also put the young voters lives on the line when Bernie and his supporters start to talk about a draft to fight Trump's war. They are the ones who will pay with their lives, bodies, and taxes for trump's war. Bernie isn't going to try to win the war hawk crowd with some justification for these attacks.

That hits right at the core of the people who voted for trump because they thought he would be a different leader who would get us out of these wars and conflicts. He just showed every one of those people they were completely wrong about him while on the other side they have a person who has a reputation for being anti-establishment and war, and he is a frontrunner. Trump just handed a bunch of his voters from last election to Bernie. Bernie is also not the dem party darling hillary was, so all of the anti-establishment vote is going to go to Bernie. Aside from the dangers and problems this will cause in that region, this is the boost Bernie needs, and no one can stop him now because he is on that stage and people have to get his view now. You cannot bury him anymore because he is the competition with Biden.

At this point I am all in on Bernie now that Warren is faltering. As much as I like her and think she is better at the math, Bernie is better.
