"Self depreciation" (I assume you mean "deprecation")? If so, how are you deprecating yourself (a self-professed Yorkie) by dissing Grantham. Last time I checked, Grantham (curses be upon it forever) was nowt to do with God's own country. How so? Like all trains it runs on fairly obvious tracks
Agreed, and I say that, again, from experience. Weird how the people who settled the east shore turned into such close-minded buggers, isn't it?
I have never seen so much rain come out of the east. To be honest though, we've dodged the floods, and that's like dodging bullets.
Floods and fields are not bueno. It's been wet here for a few days, but it's shifted enough to not inundate us. I see the Red River is supposed to get hammered again today. DFW has been hit hard lately. Whatcha got in the fields this year?
I can't imagine how bad it must be for crops over there I know my garden has been pretty much flattened and is now waterlogged, and that in comparison is nothing.
We need rain here in SW Ohio. There's supposed to be a good storm tomorrow, but I'm not convinced until it's here. We've already had a few false starts, and I dare say in the next few weeks if it doesn't rain enough, we'll have to start rationing water. My entire lawn is brown, dead grass. :/ -J.
We are under severe thunderstorm watches and hope we get some. We have severe air stagnation and while most people only suffer minor effects from something like that, people with respiratory problems really get to enjoy it. So it's hot, humid and even with air conditioners the air feels like it was already breathed by someone else a couple of times before it got to me. It's a fucking misery. You folks across the pond, stay safe and pay attention to any evacuations and stuff. Nothing is more important than your lives and flood is nothing to fool around with. My thoughts and prayers are with you guys!
It's what's causing all the flooding problems here, too. I spent Wednesday (my oldest daughter's 16th birthday and my 19th anniversary of working in teevee ) in Marble Falls, covering the aftermath of 19.5 inches of rain in less than a day. Fun.
We've dodged the big rains till tonight. On the plus side, Littleflow's birthday party is on track for tomorrow.
We're due to get another 50mm or so on Saturday Which I suppose in itself isn't drastic, but the land is saturated and the water is coming down from upland which means it could be a bit of a disaster What can you do?
Rained hard last night, had drains backing up a bit in the road. Got a huge low pressure system heading our way, it should be over iceland not england.
