Yeah I figured it was a fear type deal, so you misspoke, big deal. You fucked up, you fessed up yet unlike Akin (with the exception of CNN) people are defending you.

    Untrue.

    Again, untrue.

How simple can I make it, Akin made a stupid statement and I'm not defending it.

Most people can tell the difference between the kind of "mistake" I made and the tremendous clusterfuck in Akin's statement.

Sheesh man, you just don't know when to let go! You were wrong, you were resoundingly criticized for it by the masses, time to move on! And to go full circle, perhaps you should apologize for your misstatements. It's the Akin thing to do.

I've met Ancalagon. He is indeed massive. People always focus on the smelly tree hugging aspect, but forget to notice how damn fat he is.

It's when a politician says the first thing that pops into his head, then his handlers take him aside and point out that he's being an idiot, then he holds a press conference to say he didn't mean what he said.

This one's particular fun, because Akin's stupidity has a whole slew of Republican nabobs saying he should drop out of the race.

What garamet said, but add in the fact that a certain segment of the media will either be outraged or spend considerable energy trying to repackage the phrase, all depending on team affiliations.

Remember the whole thing with Obama and 'You didn't build that'? It's a situation where someone either used the wrong words, or put them in the wrong order, or in some other way failed to clearly speak their thought.

This is of course different from when someone is an ignorant moron, clearly speaks their ignorant moronic thought, and then later is forced to run away from it.

And just to be clear, some of us are suggesting that Akin's statements about legitimate rape and auto-abortion are examples of the latter definition.

Both examples fit the latter definition. The difference between Obama and this Akin twat is, hopefully Akin's been caught in time to be kept away from office and safely redirected to stand behind the cash register of a Christian bookstore where he can't do any real damage.

I think even the Tea Party is repudiating him.

Pretty much the only defenders he has left are the two gasbags on CNN and Clyde.

And just last week, we thought the worst thing in the whole wide world was Biden gaffes.

    We were so young then.

And by "young", I mean stupid, and by "we", I mean you.

Todd Akin actually made Live Science. They are officially stating that rape sperm is exactly the same as all other. What is amazing, is that a Scientific publication had to waste time on such idiocy. Our Congress is beginning to resemble Ireland circa 1968. Practically their whole parliament was in jail for some violent crimes. Our Congress appears to be inmates from bedlam. We're in a shit load of trouble if time has to be wasted to debate the ridiculous.
