Okay, so, first go here: http://wordforge.net/showthread.php?t=28593

...and then let's try to guess the identies of the writer!

To make it interesting, let's make a pool out of it. The person who gets the most correct gets (positive) reps from all the other guessers. Sound cool?

    Here's mine:
    Contestant #1 - Cassandra
    Contestant #2 - East
    Contestant #3 - Herpetologist
    Contestant #4 - Lanzman
    Contestant #5 - Uncle Albert
Contestant #6 - Sweet Troubled Soul
    Contestant #7 - Face
    Contestant #8 - Diacanu
    Contestant #9 - Anna Yolei
Contestant #10 - I Totally Have No Clue  At a guess, I'll pull a name out of a hat...(stirs names in hat) Crosis?

Mods, you might want to sticky this if there's enough interest...

Oh yeah...if you're in the contest, DON'T say if you are or not....we don't want to throw the competition out of whack by blowing anonymity, m'kay?

Are these for sure the 10 people that entered, or just your guesses?

Just my guesses, ideally we don't want to know who the contestants are...just thought it would be interesting to try to guess who wrote what based on what we knew of the poster.

For example, if one of the stories had a line, "tehn I infited the lipstick lesbian to caht", we'd be sure that was Baba, right? :)

EDIT: And Cass came up with the idea for making a betting pool, so give the nice moderator a tip, willya?

heh. A quandary. If I don't vote, people will assume I am in the contest, and I don't want to un-necessarily indicate if I am or not.

If I do, though, people will assume I am not in it,and again I have possibly influenced the outcome.
    Rar.

Never mind. I shall just forego it, then, for the sake of the Prime Directive.

I'm trying to say one should make no judgements on whether I am or am not in this contest based upon my decision not to participate here.

Incorrect. I joined because I was thinking about raiding the forum. Elwood and Nick are well aware of that. Only later did I notice the contest and used it to cover my intentions. I liked what I saw and nixed the raid. We are now in the early stages of raiding another forum (warrior geeks welcome). Now I am here because I like the people even as resurrection is sweeping the land in an dual thread av debate...

    That is all...

Only 2 I am pretty sure of are nr 3: Ladypreacher and Nr. 5: Diacanu. I had a feeling about nr. 7 being Summerteeth, but I don't even know why.

I don't know you all well enough to judge who wrote what, but I'll bet Dan Leach wrote the one about the guy travelling on the magical airship and having "time hiccup" issues and sexual fantasies/adventures. Forgot which entry # that was.

All I know is, as pathetic as you always sound about your inability to chat up a woman (er, a "bird" for you Britishers), that story is exactly what a sexually frustrated male would come up with. The shoe fits, IMO. :D

That's right, I wrote number 8, give me credit, what do I win?

    edit:
Ok, I just read number 8, I didn't intend on reading at all. I wasn't even planning on voting in fact, I just did a random number to tell the truth. Anyway, what in the hell made you think I would write anything like that. I know more then your average joe 6 pack about computers but I don't bother going to the extent in that story to do anything. In fact, I couldn't if I wanted to. It'd take too much time to learn how, and I don't bother hiding the IP of my dual(s). I figure if the admin wants to know, so what. ;)

Weird story though, I give the real author credit for creativity. Clearly it's someone that outshines me in the computer department.

Actually, it wasn't the computer-y parts that made me think it was yours. Mentioning some WF posters seemed kinda Texy to me.
Rep-whore master and all that. :) :hail:

I never asked East, and given the enormous majority that white, geeky, males have on message boards, I made assumptions.
