    Smoky Mountains. Renting a "cabin" somewhere between Gatlinburg and Pidgeon Forge.

    So not exactly right next to Asheville, but only an hour or so away, on the other side of the mountains. "Nearby", considering it'll take 1.5 days to drive there from St. Louis.
