Linky All the Gurkhas should have the right to live here, they've done more than enough for us. And the fuckwit that made the original decision should be stranded half-way up Everest without warm clothing or oxygen. The Gurkhas were based here a few years ago. Never caused trouble, the way some squaddies do. And we have the legacy of a few really great Nepalese restaurants. Really great blokes.
The government are more than willing to have Gurkhas fight for us, but make them citizens, omg we can't do that. We have a lot of Gurkhas here in Kent. They have got to be some of the most hardworking, polite people I have ever met. They get a lot of security jobs in the local shops and courts. Shit you do not mess with these guys. I feel incredibly safe around them. They all deserve to be citizens if that's what they want.
Unbelievable that the government does almost nothing to prevent the settlement of illegal immigrants in this country yet they refuse to allow members of the UK military from living here.
Nice to see a good ending to this. They made some of the toughest and most loyal troops ever fielded, and the UK owes them quite a considerable debt.
