Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I know many of you don't celebrate this holiday in other countries, but I hope the spirit of being thankful for everything in your life is still with you as well today. And really...isn't any excuse to take a day to forget diets and pig out a good one? I hope everyone has a great day, whatever you may be doing and know that you guys are one of the things I am thankful for. Since I am not a big pie fan, I won't wish pie for you. I will wish the special dessert I will be having tomorrow... Lemon Cheesecake (From Wild Oats Bakery) So to die for.
Happy thanksgiving! For those who celebrate, may your day be spent with family, friends, good beer, and good eats. If instead it is a day of bitterly drinking alone and scrounging food from the dumpster, well, you probably did that to yourself. We're doing two birds this year, one to be roasted after a good long soak in an apple and ginger brine, the other fried, with injection of butter, beer, and spices. A couple different stuffings/dressings, mashed potatoes, squash, etc., followed with apple, mince, chocolate bourbon pecan, and of course pumpkin pies.
I was lazy, pumpkin pie with canned filling in a premade pie crust. I will add whipped cream to it at my Aunt's place.
I'm thankful that I won't be drinking alone and scrounging for food out of a dumpster. I've been very angry much of the last year with all the frustrations from work. I think I've alienated many co-workers, but, everyone of them asked me last week to be sure I had plans for Thanksgiving. My mother-in-law called and asked me to have dinner with them. As my 8 year old will be there, that's where I will be. I'm also thankful for all of you. I'm not one to spend a lot of time typing. I get on here to read all the drama and sometimes stir the pot. When I do make a statement in serious thread, it's usually one or two lines. If I do expound, it usually has no more thought behind it than what's on the top of my head - and if I'm here, the last thing I want to do is think. But, despite all my half thought out responses and stirring up shit, I still manage (even before the change) to receive more green pips than red pips. Thank you guys for making this place as weird as I am and welcome to all the weirdos.
