Hey @Dayton3 explain this: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.mi...s/inside-most-racist-town-america-9328501.amp It's from 2016, but its doubtful anything's changed for the better in three years there.
The football team has an outstandingly nice football stadium. IIRC a FedEx big shot contributed $500,000 to help build it. A few years ago I was interviewed by their long time head coach and he was going to take me to their new stadium. Looked like I had the job in the bad but then one of his former players applied and he gave the job to him. I think Harrison also had a really nice book store.
This sounds awful. Meanwhile, in more recent news. Detriot schools lagging a little bit. Say No to Ben Just a minor case of misplaced priorities? Meanwhile, in other fake news, a large US state reportedly achieved a high watermark for success in government when it passed a ban on straws (although it had around .001 impact on anything, anywhere, including the great straw reef), although this accomplishment was overshadowed by coverage of the devastating uncontrolled wildfires that ranged free apparently after years of regulatory neglect and lapses failed to take any measures to mitigate the harm.
yes Shirogayne, every fucking town in every fucking state is just like Harrison, if not worse. I expect a mass exodus of Blacks out of Atlanta on their way to California any day now! Fires, mud slides, earthquakes and sky-high rent prices are just what they all need - they don't know what they are missing out on!
yeah I addressed this a minute ago. Shirogayne is her own worst enemy! All that white hate and distrust is eating up her brain. Hate to see it happen to a vet.
While in the north there is zero racism/oppression/unfairness/discrimination etc. and minorities are living like kings! Seriously, on I-95 when they cross the Mason-Dixon line money rains down upon all minority owned vehicles - it's quite a sight to see!
Yet here you and Marso are not even attempting to say this is bad, Tuttle flat out claiming fake news and Dayton rambling on about the local bookstore being nice. Marso may not be aware I'm Anna Yolei since this name change is recent and that I was the Good Minority that bought into tea party propaganda the last time he was a regular poster here. Maybe he can ponder what could have possibly happened in the last six years to turn me back to being a pinko commie progressive.
Conceptual harm to sensibilities matters so much more than actual real harm imposed decade after decade. Ah, the lefties. From empowering 'black is beautiful' to whiney misleading heart tugging demagogue slogans 'black lives matter' in a generation.
That's not just California. That's been everywhere. For decades we've been hyper-vigilant about preventing and extinguishing forest fires...including ones started naturally. That's lead to an over abundance of dead and diseased trees which are fuel for wildfires. In other words, it's Smokey The Bear's fault.
That to, but also the years-long drought hasn't helped. Coincidentally, Southern California is seeing it's sixth rainy day today, which is at least five more than I remember from last season.
1. This is very bad. 2. ... 3. ... 4. This is very bad. 5. ... 6. ... 7. ... 8. ... 9. This really is truly very bad. 10. ... 11. Nevertheless, this is by far the exception and not the rule, on a national scale in particular but even in the south.
And why would I give a damn about where the KKK is supposedly headquartered? The third incarnation of the Klan (the current one) has always been a joke. Historically, Arkansas was never the state with the strongest Klan activity. That distinction largely belongs to Indiana and Oklahoma.
"Yet here you and Marso are not even attempting to say this is bad" - Shirogayne Give me a big fat fucking break! If I said it was bad you and much of wordforge would have accused me of being sarcastic or trolling or mocked me in general. I'm no genius but I'm not that fucking stupid.
Yes, well, that's one side of the story But Smokey argues otherwise: On the brighter side, fewer plastic straws!
You might have a point. IIRC the really nice book store was a Hastings and since then all their stores have closed. Very sad.
Ok, sorry! [But it sounds like you're as bad as me and maybe even Greenspan at conveying the point you want to make sometimes. ; )]
