I don't care for donkey, mule, or horse either. Though IIRC might late grandfather (daddy's side, died in 1989) had eaten one or all of those at various times during the Great Depression.
Why are you so angry? Are they making a sequel? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diary_of_a_Mad_Black_Woman
And Faceman, Chad, and Ed629 continuing to be classy bastards by insulting my daughter. I'm pretty sure the moderators said that couldn't be done.
You just made a racial insult after claiming white supremist land was a great place, and you want them to stay classy? I see you have been practicing your dumbass while you were away.
I'm just saying that it's more systemic than those California dandelion eaters and their wildfires. Fires play an important part in the life and development of hardwood forests. They clear out all the diseased and dead trees. When we squelch any and all forest fires (like we've been doing since the 40s or 50s) all those diseased and dead trees start piling up. Mature, healthy trees are naturally resistant to the occasional forest fire, but when we keep them from happening, the resulting fuel makes them untenable when a a fire gets out of control, hence "wildfire". California is an extreme example for various reasons...including their dandelion eatery, but not exclusive to that. Case in point, the recent East Tennessee wildfire that almost torched Gatlinburg. Same damn thing. We need to start using controlled burns to clear out the fuel, and then let natural fires burn where they don't threaten infrastructure. Simply clear cutting the mature healthy trees for timber won't help. It'll only make things worse because it leaves the dead and diseased trees and the saplings. That stuff is just tinder for a fire.
Look here, the boy. This ain't malibu's most wanted, and that shit is tired. What the fuck is wrong with you? Of course she is angry, she has to deal with racist bullshit like people belittling her for being angry while black and a woman. I was trying to give you a bit, and here you are jumping in with Dayton and some racist bullshit.
I visited Harrison once, on a school trip. I think it was 1983. Had a pretty good deep dish pizza there. Can't say that I remember any overt white supremacy, though. I'd go back and check, but it's Arkansas.
I didn't say it was a great place. How would I know? I've driven through there once. I know their football stadium is reportedly very nice. There are descriptions of it on Wikipedia for example. In regards to dumbassery, I'll note that you've never needed the practice. You've perfected the art.
She’s been angry long before you showed up, she’s the typical angry liberal. Mad at the world because life isn’t fair.
You drove through there once? Just drove through? Sounds like a little bit more than a drive through to me. Fucking liar.
Yes, but calling her a mad black woman belittles her anger and makes it seem like it is has no meaning other than she is black and a woman. If she is angry there is a reason for it and it is probably from dealing with racist dipshits saying stupid crap like that. BTW nice shift from black to liberal. Did you just expose one of your code words for brown?
I drove through on the way to Branson, Missouri last year. And the KKK headquarters (such that it is) is in Zinc. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zinc,_Arkansas
I understand your point and largely agree. I was identifying what appears to be misplaced priorities. Taking steps like e.g. liberalizing local government or private rights to start fires (prohibited by presently very restrictive regs) requires much hard work, debate and the chance to appear insensitive to the edicts of the Church. But it seems ok, since now CA lawmakers are addressing the next big item on the feel good/do little pandering method of leadership, eliminating paper receipts. No doubt new action to revise regulation to more sensibly permit controlled burns and other measures identified to help mitigate future devastation from wildfires it's not far down the list of legislative initiatives.
Bull. I was toeing the teabagger bullshit for a good long while after TBBS drop kicked your ass. Again, like I mentioned to Marso and I've asked of every conservative that's ever praised me in the past for being a "free thinker," which is code for "black person we can use to justify being racists," figure out why the change happened. Ask how someone who bought conservative rhetoric went bad to something she thought she had no use for. At least @Aurora and the other liberals on the board gave me the courtesy of trying to understand my position before writing me off as pond scum and an oreo.
And I suppose it's never occurred to you for a second that a black woman living in this country might have some really good reasons to be angry, has it?
I can't even remember now. I have a very vague memory of whatever event it was, and I remember going to a Wal-Mart for the first time and going to the pizza place with a few friends after. I do remember cute little Amy what's-her-name sat on my knee for part of the bus ride back.
IIRC the bio details that Anna has provided in the past she has been very successful and accomplished person. Sounds to me like reasons to be grateful and proud rather than "good reasons to be angry". That said black people and women in the United States in no way have a monopoly on reasons to be angry. Almost everyone can find reasons to be angry if they try hard enough.
I don't much appreciate having my name in this paragraph, but it is what it is. I've generated my share of controversy here in the past, and been a selective troll in my time. The bolded part is beneath you- and I've never NOT known you were Anna. (Not sure if that comment was this thread or another) I also think that whatever it is that happened (or maybe a mash of things) that made you bitter (and we've all been there at one time or another), one of these days you are going to get past it, past the big chip on your shoulder, and past the victim mentality. I'm not talking about you 'becoming conservative.' I know plenty of libs who are good folks and live in the middle, more or less. We simply agree to disagree on some stuff, but we press on and win trivia night at the bar. You've done a lot more than most of the board, for yourself and your country, but I know not everything worked out the way you wanted or planned. You know what? It didn't for me, either, or probably for anyone else. Like Chup. Life isn't about how well you deal with the stuff that comes up roses- it's about how you recover from and deal with the stuff that doesn't. That's why we're all grinding out this turn on the wheel- and the last one, and the next one. I'm not saying 'you're gonna be okay.' I'm saying you already are- you just need to look in the mirror and see it for yourself. And keep on thinking free!
