Have a friend who has been having problems recently with her flash drives.
She starts to save information (pictures, music, addresses etc) and suddenly she gets a message stating the flash drive needs formatting, or when she tries to pull off information she finds nothing.
Now, she has an older computer and I'm not sure which OS she is using. She does admit it acts like the mother board is starting to see the end of its life.
What besides a virus could be affecting the flash drives?

It could be the flash drive itself going dodgy. Rather like floppies used to.
Has it been tried in different computers?

As in, she'd been able to save to the flash drive or access files on it until that moment?
