While the humor may SEEM similar, there is a massive gap between Robert McKimson, Bob Clampett, Friz Freleng, and Chuck Jones vs. John Kricfalusi.

The Looney Tunes greats (though I don't like McKimson as much) were much more politically and culturally topical. Kricfalusi is much more interested in hedonistic exploitation than anything else.

The only thing they really share is the love of violent humor.

I dunno, I thought his Yogi and Jetsons were faithful to the spirit and feel of each one, even though they were weirded up.

Well, if there's one great bit of proof that it is in fact Seth MacFarlane's writing that has gone to shit, and not some writing staff for his cartoons, the Cavalcade of Comedy is it.

It's difficult for me to appreciate a man that uses animated comedy as if it were a soapbox upon which to bitch and moan under the guise of entertainment.

Kricfalusi was at his best when he was being reined in a bit, like in the first two seasons of Ren & Stimpy. When he later got the chance to revisit Ren & Stimpy on his own, it was horrific. It's like John Lennon; he needed Paul McCartney and vice versa.
