It was pretty retarded last night.

Though, IMO, it's been retarded since the day it debuted.

The characters that haven't pissed me off this season:

    Noah
    Sylar
    Hiro
    Hiro's friend
    Fast chick
    Veronica Mars
Parkman (hell of a surprise there)
    Spirit Walk Guy
    Crazy-time Linderman
    Mama Petrelli

So, essentially, I love half an episode and hate half an episode.

Fucking tired of Jango Fett, ahem, Nikki 2, Electric Boogaloo, ahem...

She can't act worth a damn and her characters always suck.

I'm watching this season. So far it's an improvement on last season, but it's still got work to do. They've got too many damned characters. If the cast was trimmed by half, it would be a much better show. I'm sorry, but adorable little Hiro has worn out his welcome with his enthusiastic stupidity. I must open the safe. I must.

Mama Angela's chilling evil bitchiness is worth the price of admission. It was kind of her to bring her new son a happy meal before she sent him out to work. Too bad Sylar didn't turn off Claire's voice box when he was poking around in her brain. Hayden's not a skilled enough actress to pull off the angst.

    Show needs more:
    Angela
    Sylar
    Noah
    Tracy
    Nathan
    Haitian
Peter (if he's not being a martyr)
    Linderman
    Parkman

    Show can do without:
    Hiro
    Ando
    Daphne the speedster pixie girl
    Mohinder the idiot
Maya the useless with a good rack
    Claire

Really, the show could revolve around the Petrellis and their dirty deeds and history, with Noah and Parkman and a variety of guest villains/bystanders thrown in the mix. It would be a lot better. Forget the future. They should have been chasing those five super villains all season, 3 of which are now expired. And when exactly are we going to see the fallout between Nathan and Peter?

The series has really become a soap opera with super powers. Characters don't have any consistency. They just do whatever it takes to keep the plot moving (e.g. Hiro and the safe).

I used to love Hiro, but he was unspeakably stupid in what he did. This arc doesn't need him or the annoying blond pixie at all. And did we ever figure out why Peter couldn't travel back to a half hour before the press conference and try to talk to Nathan? Like Nathan wouldn't listen to Peter. Peter's the one person he would listen to.

Can you imagine how choice it would have been had Noah been the shooter? They were alluding to it at the end of season two. He had to go back to company and be their bitch so they'd leave Claire alone. The company could have ordered him to do it when they saw Nathan, Peter, and Matt planning to go public through the security cams in the virus safe. Clare's real dad shooting her bio dad? All sorts of complications that would lead to good story. How does Clare react? How does Peter, who's always trying to be a peacemaker (when he's not busy shooting his brother  ) react? You'd have to think he'd come down on Nathan's side of the equation. How does Nathan react when he recovers? You can still do the God thing, but Nathan's ex-wife has taken his kids away from him. Clare's his remaining child and her dad has tried to take his life. Nathan starts to feel entitled to not keep his distance any more--why wouldn't he? Mix in the super villains escaping, nix the change the future storyline, add in Angela, Sylar's family connection and company intrigue and you've got plenty of story for this volume. You can still add Tracy trying to seduce Nathan for the governor.

But no. Peter shot Nathan because it didn't occur to him to come back an hour before the press conference.

What? I love Hiro and Ando. Its really the only reason I keep watching.

I'm sick of the Nathan stuff personally. or the Suresh-i'm-turning-into-the-fly story.

The only thing that really bugs me is the future paintings, there SO not as good as first season. And I'm willing to bet its the same set artist they just chose to make them look different since its a different character drawing them, but screw it - I don't care, I'd like the first season paintings back.

I don't know. I mean the WHOLE WORLD was depending on this. Future Peter might have just sucked it up and said better safe than sorry. Nathan might not have believed him or Parkman or PresentPeter could have carried on the press conference anyway. Seemed like a pretty straight forward way to be sure about saving the future. Besides... who said FuturePeter wasn't ubber pissed at Future Nathan and felt like laying a few bullets into him.

Hiro deserves to die for his raging stupidity since the beginning of Season 2.

God, I hope that turns out to be it, because Peter comes across as unbearably stupid otherwise. With the brothers' history, I'm not buying that shooting Nathan was a first resort instead of a last one. Not from Peter. Those two are too bizarrely co-dependent on each other for protection from their evil bitch of a mother who only gives her third son snacks. He would have tried at least to talk to Nathan first. He could always still kill him later. Or teleport him into a closet. I'd dance a jig if Future Pete would cop to the fact that he shot Nathan because he was f'ing pissed off. You're talking about a story of forgiveness then instead of one of stupidity.

I'm serious. Hiro and Ando have become buffoonish. I liked them for two seasons, but opening that safe was just dumb. It was plot moving character instead of character moving plot. They could have been backburned for an arc. Don't get me started on stupid Suresh. He needs to die already and never come back.

Supernatural has surpassed Heroes as the better genre show. It wasn't when it started, but it is now. A tiny cast and budget and its writing is outdoing Heroes by such a wide margin it's sad. Landing Alexis Draden from 24 as an old testament burn out the innocent's eyes angel of the Lord was priceless. Misha Collins does a sinister angel justice.

I wouldn't have. It's a girl thing. Girls do what their daddies tell them. Hiro's still like a little kid. Ando can stick around, but Hiro's just.....aaaaackk!!!

Let's remember we are coming from a future where his niece Claire just tried to kill him, so the family is on the outs.

Obviously. Hayden's not doing it for me as a dangerous psychopathic version of Clare. She still looks like a cheerleader. Man, those Peter/Claire shippers on the other board are annoying. Yes, they ship uncle and niece because the two are dating in real life, or did date. They want the characters to not be related biologically anymore.

I'm still more interested in Peter and Nathan getting ugly with each other over all their issues. You know, Peter putting two slugs in his chest because of what Nathan supposedly did later on. I'd watch that throw down before I'd enjoy watching Clare try to be tough. Hayden's kewpie doll face just doesn't allow for her to look mean.

Here's why it made perfect sense for the character. It can be summed up in one old football saying... "A real star ALWAYS wants the ball."

Well a real Hero always wants the ball too, atleast in Hiro's mind. Hiro wants to be in play, he wants to be in the game, fighting the fight - not warming the bench. That's why he went all the way to America in season one. His character had no choice BUT to open the safe.

Hiro can teleport. He'd be better off out looking for burning buildings to rescue people from. If I could teleport, I think I'd consider it my sacred duty to be a fireman or something.

I might have opened the safe, and I might have opened the envelope, but I also would have punched the speedster girl in the face as soon as I caught her with the formula.

I might also have locked the door to my office before opening the safe. :bergman:

I don't think punching an unarmed girl in the face keeps with Hiro's ideas of heroism.

Mohinder became an enormous idiot in the first episode this season.

Parkman seems to have wised up considerably, most notably on the topic of when to keep his mouth shut and when not to, which is a nice change.

I'm beginning to get the idea that it's too bad Adam never killed Angela.

And Nathan's power is more than just flying, I think.

Hiro and Ando are like Harry Potter and Ron. So it was perfectly in character, if extremely stupid, to open the safe. Still, there must have been a reason that the safe was keyed to let him.

Nathan's power is that he scores with hot chicks. He's got the pseudo shy, winsome smile beneath the shark persona nailed. :smooch:

    episode 4 sneak peek

I guess we know who catches Tracy when she jumps off that ledge in that quick preview shot.

    Poor girl.

    I love Hiro and Ando.

Ando is a real hero. He has nothing to save his ass except his wits. And occasionally Hiro.

Spoken like a true girl.

A man would be doing exactly what Hiro was doing.

    Well most men.

I'd be traveling up and down the timeline scoring with the hot chicks.

"I banged Joan of Arc and all she got was a burning at the stake!"
