    Remember though.....

For all his comic book knowledge Hiro is a rookie still.

A line from TWOK: Spock: "He is intelligent, but not experienced. His pattern indicates 2 dimensional thinking."

Of course there is a reason. Daddy knows his son. Knows what he will do. Knows that Hiro will hunt down the other half of the formula and destroy it.

This is why he taped that second DVD where he said, "I told you not to open the safe but since you did" which was hilarious.

I was hoping it was all misdirection and Adam would turn out to be a good guy. I mean, how many centuries can you be pissed about an ex-girlfriend? Not to mention everyone in the picture was neck-deep in some real shady dealings.

By the way, what the hell ever happened to Peter's girlfriend? Has she permanently disappeared into the future?

Caitlin? I'm thinking the writers are hoping the audience forgets about her. It does seem out of character for Peter to totally forget about her. All it would take is a line or two--he wants to look for her in NY when the future date he jumped to comes to pass, maybe?

Of course, it's out of character for Peter to shoot Nathan, but he did that, too. Someone floated an excellent theory on another forum though. Since Peter is such a power sponge, he may have healed Nathan without realizing it. Nathan did spring to life after Peter touched his forehead in the hospital, remember? Perhaps Linderman was lurking about and Peter absorbed his power without realizing it.

Or Linderman wasn't lurking about at all... We're talking about Peter being able to absorb powers, Sylar being able to absorb them through killing. What can Nathan 'absorb'? Just think about that Chess scene.

Well, Peter from the future could have come across a touch healer at any point even if he didn't know it. I like that theory. If it ain't Peter the wonder sponge, then God healed Nathan. Somehow I'm not buying it.

Nathan can absorb the hot loving from Tracy. He was looking pretty happy in that clip, like a nerd boy being kissed by the hot chick of his dreams. :thecadre: Hell, I don't know what to think about the Linderman visions. Maury Parkman projecting into Nathan's mind, perhaps?

    I'm still down with Hiro.

As for his opening the safe, I think it in of itself makes sense.

I'm not sure it makes sense that Hiro's dad didn't just destroy the formula while alive or at least refuse to tell Hiro about it and take it as a secret to the grave, since he recognized there was a decent possibility Hiro would open the safe.

Agree on Angela. Not so sure about Hayden.

I don't particularly want more Tracy. The real Linderman, I believe, is dead and the guy Nathan was talking to is a figment of Nathan's imagination.

    Nope, want both of them.

I'm surprised you would give Tracy more of a chance and not at least see if Daphne deserves some more rope with which to hang herself.

I'm fine with the character so far, but wish Hiro would lay off on the Batman/Catwoman comparisions. If that's going to work it has to be unforced.

Yeah, but that's been true since day one.

    A clear oxymoron.

Eh. They said like a dozen people escaped from Level Five, so even with the capture of these four or five, there's still enough to squeeze a season out of if they so choose.

    I don't know. Hopefully soon.

    I don't think that's the case.

In the specific example of Hiro and the safe, I think it's very consistent that his character would open the safe. Besides his acting impulsively in general rather than thinking things through, and wanting to carry the ball, as another poster daid, he's still also got his lifetime of looking up to his father and feeling like his dad was testing him.

The rationale the show gave for him opening the safe ("This DVD is a test from my dad and I'll pass that test by disobeying his stated orders and showing I'm willing to disobey him") seems reasonable from his standpoint, especially since the only other time we know of that he got his dad's approval was for being independent.

I'm operating under the assumption that this Future Peter is either the one who came from the Future we've seen before in which Sylar is really Future Nathan. Either that or a similar future.

That fanwanking makes it seem reasonable that Peter would think the only option was shooting Present Nathan. Especially if Future Peter did not realize that Future Nathan was really Future Sylar.

Yeah, I think it would have been better if Noah were the shooter. Maybe they felt it was better to have a surprise person responsible for the shooting.

I wish they established his rationale for shooting instead of talking a little better. It could be something along the lines of what I suggested above.

Or it could be that he figured shooting would end the likelihood that other Heroes would come out of the closet.

It's not a set artist who's doing them per se. They are the work of Tim Sale, a pretty well-known comic book artist.

They seemed to be similar to me, FWIW.

C'mon, who's really expecting a super-speedster to come in that exact second? And when you can stop time, what do you normally have to worry about.

I was operating under the impression it was a residual effect of his Adam-blood transfusion until we saw Linderman or not-Linderman.

Well, if you remember back to last season, Nathan was prone to have visions of himself with a melted face. I don't know if that's just examples of him suffering from mental illness or if he has another power.

That is because until Adam gave Nathan a transfusion, Nathan did have a half melted face. I would say it was risidual shame.
