Ok, if you read my Blue Room thread at all you know I'm having issues getting my fucking couch!!! Well it was supposed to be delivered tomorrow, apparently isn't going to be, and the only reason I know this is I called this twice in 2 hours today because my idiot salesman won't ever actually call me back. So, dear Red Room, how do I basically throw an absolute fit to get my point across, get my goddamn couch, and not look like a completely disrespectful 5 year old in the process? And yes, I've already gone to the manager, he's who told me it would be delivered tomorrow. BTW, I bought this couch 3 weeks ago. Irritation level=fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuckshit goddammitmotherfuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cancel the order, demand your money back, go buy a couch somewhere that treats you properly. So long as you're still giving them your money, they don't care how much you complain. There's nothing "disrespectful" about demanding what you paid for and were promised as a customer. And yes, I've done exactly that in the past. That's how I got the couch I have now.
And I agreed you were right about Johns diet in the Obamacare thread. Let us never speak of this night again.
Aren't you the guy who was asking about setting pools on fire? It's one step up from a pool to a store.... I didn't say that and you can't prove it. Lanzman edited my post and put it in there to frame me.....yeah that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
One word....competition. Furniture stores go under every day.....let this one join them if they don't treat you properly. Take your money elsewhere.
Get money back and buy another couch wins! I found one I love at a store about 4 miles from my apartment. Its about 10 dollars more, and I have no problem eating the delivery fee, considering they'll give me better service. I've bought from them before and had no trouble. The only reason I bought the other couch was I had access to a truck so I didn't have to pay delivery fees. /mistake /fail Oh, and be a bitch by calling corporate is on my list also.
I'd try to sound as calm as possible on the phone, but make sure to mention the people who fucked up by name, and explain exactly how they cost their employer a sale.
Is your entire story a lie or what? If you only bought a couch at this place to avoid delivery fees and bring the couch home yourself in a borrowed truck then they can hardly be treating you like shit by not delivering it, now can they. If you don't have it, it seems like it would be your own fault, not theirs.
Here is a phrase that has gotten me a lot of good results: "Look, you didn't create this problem and I understand that - but I need you to help me fix the problem caused by your company." You should also tweet about your problem - no lies. I have gotten AT&T to bend over backwards to fix problems through twitter, as well as Comcast and Sears. The key is to tweet to indicate that you're not happy, and then these companies will ask you to DM them a message with your problem. Don't unload in public - do that in private.
Hey, it could be that the couch wasn't available for pickup, despite them promising it'd be in the warehouse by that date. I've had that problem with furniture stores in the past, that's why I love Ikea so much.
No, I chose it because it was exactly what I was looking for and in my price range. Using my grandfather's truck to pick it up instead of paying 80 dollars to deliver it to my house just so I could move it again was just a real convenient bonus. Now that I'm moving back to my apartment arranging delivery and such is not a problem since I don't have to plan to take days off work to drive up here. The issue is the day I was supposed to pick it up they made me wait an hour to tell me they didn't have it, when I had called the day before to confirm I could still pick it up. But it had in theory shipped the Tuesday before (this was a Saturday) so they would deliver it for free to my apartment 100 miles away. I asked if the next Thursday would be a possible delivery date and was told yes it would be and that they would arrange it and call me. That Wednesday, hadn't heard from them, kind of needed to know if I needed to be ready for a delivery. Well apparently it hadn't shipped til Saturday (the day I was supposed to pick it up) and wouldn't be here for another week. So I went in and talked to the manager and wanted to know exactly what was going on and why I wasn't being told something completely different from 3 days before. He told me the couch would be in Monday or Tuesday, and he said he would set up the delivery for today and call me when the couch came in. Well I called Thursday to inquire because I still hadn't heard from them, and my salesman told me he'd check on it and call me back in a few minutes. Didn't call back. I called yesterday and got the same response, except this time I called two hours later, and the only answer I could get was he didn't see it on the delivery list, so he didn't think it was going to be delivered. So I asked if the couch was even in and got the "oh I'm sure it is by now" response. How is this my fault again?
What delivery fee? From the new place then ok. From the shit stains..tell em to fuck off and that they cant charge you for a service they never delivered.
A lot of stores charge a delivery fee. If you buy it in tax-free Delaware and have it delivered into Maryland, they also have to charge the 6% Maryland sales tax.
