It is because you are downplaying racism. Racism is racism, period. It doesn't matter if you think one causes more harm or not. Hell, your attitude in and of itself demonstrates harm in that it leads you and others to view racism as being acceptable. So at the end of the day, like it or not, you are arguing in favor of racism.

You still haven't demonstrated that the analogy is invalid, nor have you managed to prove that the amount of impact racism has on people's lives doesn't matter.

Your analogy is invalid because it doesn't address what the argument is. It's a strawman, plain and simple.
