how is morbid obesity a disibility. My father had a real disability you fatu s shitheads go excercise and stop eating.
Jabba the Hutt was able to overcome his disability and rise to the top of an intergalactic smuggling empire. We could all learn from his struggle against adversity.
If fat people can get a special parking spot, then I demand I have one as well! I have a mild case of Ehlers-Danlos and I'll be damned if fat people get preference over my faulty DNA!!
Blame the Americans with Disabilities Act. From what I've heard, not being able to use a cell phone properly, or being bad with money counts as a disability according to the ADA, and you may be entitled to receive a handicap parking permit as long as you get a doctor to sign off on it.
Though a small minority (pun not intended) there are a few people who are morbidly obese because of various medical conditions.
And it's called "morbid" obesity for a reason. A BMI over 30 increases your risk of just about every chronic and/or acute illness you can think of. Many, many people are on medications for other things (like steroids for asthma or psychotropic meds like Zyprexa), which the docs don't bother telling them can cause massive weight gain even if nothing else in their lives changes.
I'm not morbidly obese, although I'm overweight. I have declined two of the better fibromyalgia meds out there because both cause significant weight gain. Someone just told me there is a new wonderful one and I went to do research on it, hoping that it was something I could discuss with my doctor. Guess what - side effect of major weight gain. When it comes to pain and fatigue vs. more weight, I'll stick with the pain and fatigue. Not everyone who is morbidly obese is an undisciplined pig. And even if they are, they don't merit what some jackasses hand out to them. I feel sorry for them, trying to live without major hassles much be difficult enough without some mannerless dolts making fun of them.
