Hey, wave a bag of M&M's in front of her and she'll do ass to mouth before you can say "Aysnictrussrus."
I like their employee discount. Hey, don't get me wrong - I'm thankful you decided to join us, and the troll still worked waay beyond what I could've ever imagined it would do. I'll always have fond memories of that day and the people who went along with the joke. But as this post shows, you really can't take any criticisim at all. I mention how the Variety article wasn't a good idea, and you come in and call people a fucktard? I shudder to think what you'll call Steven Spielberg or Martin Scorcece or other directors if they tell you to act a certain way or a different way. Which is why if you continue to have that sort of attitude, you will be a failure as an actor, and at life.
I respect Messrs. Spielberg and Scorcese (or "Marty" as his friends call him.) You...hmmmm....yeeeaaahhh...
Wordforge has grown, for better and for worse. Some people have grown closer, others have fallen through the cracks or been driven away. The board as a whole is disjointed; we need a uniting force. I think the largest part of the problem, is that as a group, we define ourselves based on the actions of a few memorable people, and when they leave, we're left with nothing. So now we're in a bit of a rut, unless someone wants to step up to the plate and troll the Voyager forum.
Re: How much has WF changed over the years? It began as a separatist movement from TBBS, populated by a number of free spirits of varying opinions, and has become codified into little cliques repeating the same snide remarks over and over again. Though there are some posters who transcend the cliques and manage to have intelligent conversations in spite of the background noise. In short, it resembles every human institution begun with the best of intentions and inevitably succumbing to the cult of personality.
Re: How much has WF changed over the years? I've heard about the cliques of WF, but not being in one, I guess I just can't see them. No chance you could pick out the most proment and post their membership could you?
Re: How much has WF changed over the years? It's juvenile...but so is life. Right now, I have to say that this joint has more of a sense of humor about things than TBBS does. It's crass and stupid at times and there's a decent amount of pandering, but on the whole I find it kind of entertaining. Of course, I'm still new and only been burned at the stake a couple of times. I suppose that getting the Extra Crispy treatment wears thin after a while.
We all come here for our own reasons. Some of us like to heap abuse (Hi, The Flashlight!). Some of us like to receive abuse because negative attention is still attention (Hi, Ted and Actormike!). Some of us like to laugh at ourselves and others (Me!). Some of us come for still other reasons, but the one fact is that we're all here. This is who we are. This is who we shall remain.
I don't think it has changed to much. The drama comes and goes. I miss certain people. Some things some people will never know about because people keep insisting on culling perfectly good threads from the database...
