Tom and Jerry Kicked Ass! So did Scooby Doo, and Bugs Bunny and the like! I'm young, but I still caught the greats I was watching Tom and Jerry recently and came upon this situation, and I just had to take a picture:
A few month's ago, I was at my uncle's house, and his kid was watching some shit on Cartoon Network called "Chowder." Basically, as far as I could tell, the entire show was basically characters vomiting into the mouths of other characters. And he was laughing at this like it was the funniest thing in the world. Now, granted, the kid's as dumb as a box of hammers, but still, it should be basic human instinct to not find that shit funny.
Now replace "Chowder" with your latest Adult Swim abortion and "retarded cousin" with your average knuckle dragging college student.
Nick at Night stopped being great after they stopped showing Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Mr. Ed, and Car 54, Where are You?
Friend A was telling Friend B about the birthday gift friend A got for friend B's daughter. I think Friend A was talking about one of those 'piano guitar' things - no idea what it's called, but apparently neither did Friend A. He mistakenly said "I got [her] an air guitar." Completely baffled I asked, "You got her nothing?"
the best part about the picture I posted was that their asses were hanging out the back of the gate, and Jerry struts around to the back with a Paddle and closes the door. I used pause on my TV and took a picture with my phone, then proceeded to laugh hysterically.
What are we going to do tonight, Brain? Same thing we do every night, Pinky. Try to take over the world!
Cartoons, like standup comedy, started to suck once nearly everybody had cable. Now they have to fill so much time, and people expect to be able to be entertained by the TV 24/7, that almost everything is crap. Right now, pretty much everything that played ONLY on a Saturday morning is much better than anything played on a cable station now.
I agree. That's actually the same problem with the news media. They have to fill 24 hours/day with news, make it interesting, get good ratings, and draw viewers, so they often create stories and controversies where none existed or were not newsworthy. Take Anna Nicole Smith for example.
Pink panther was always pretty good as well, but when they started making newer ones, where he could talk, it got shite!
